A big layoff, definently but remember that Lewis was a far greater fighter than anyone today. Also, he wasn't in that many wars so his body should have some left in the tank. His size, skill, experience, and jab would spell trouble for anyone there and I wouldn't bet against him vs anyone.

We can only make a wild guess . . . we don't know the present physical and mental state of Lewis . . . so verything is just pure speculation.

i think lewis' skillset is definetely above wlad's but it's not "far greater" imo. i think wlad does a couple things better but lewis' advantages do clearly offset the minuses

and 5 years is too much imo. lennox looks pretty jolly these days too. his stamina, speed and timing would be huge ???

he'd certainly have a puncher's chance but to say today's lewis beats wlad with certainty is ludacris. i'd expect nothing less from the Brits and/or wald haters :yep

While I see Lewis doing fairly well and fighting for a title, I don't see him beating Wlad. Having said that, I do think he could grab a title, as long as it's not Wlad's. Valuev could be a challenge as could Peters but strangely enough I envision his getting by both of these fighters, mostly due to experience. This of course assumes he's in reasonably good shape. He power and experience alone would give him some chance against a lot of these fighters.

I never said I'd pick todays Lewis against Wlad "with certainty." Just he obviously is a better fighter than anyone today and we don't know what kind of shape he could get in.

  LOL @ The title Lewis cum straight back is it some kind of gay porn

Seriously I doubt it and im a masive Lewis fan, I do believe at the time he retired he did have a couple of fights left in him. He didn't get himself into tip top shape to fight johnson and ended up taking on Vitali which would of been his next fight anyway.

5 Years is a long time and he is into his forties now, he is mega rich dosen't need the money has a fantastic legacy why risk it all now. Its not like Foreman he needed the money at the time where as Lennox dosen't.

The last thing a fighter Loses is his punch and I do think Lewis could beat a few descent contenders don't get me wrong, but a fight with wlad now is all wrong for him. I honestly do not think we will ever see Lennox get through the ropes again as a fighter, especialy as long as his mum is alive

I tell you what though I wonder how many ppv buys there would be for Lewis- wlad or lewis-vitali 2.

Yes lennox would have a very good chance of coming back and making an impact but the long layoff and age would be a major factor also its pretty clear he would beat most of the division still so why bother. the only fight i would like to see him come back for is The Vitali rematch as there was some unfinished biz there . the thing is when a dominant champ retires the divison does dip for however many years but having the champ come back does not solve this , as lennox would again have to retire one day and were right back were we started from.
