TFFP im not surprised you dont understand what im saying as you have Kessler as your avator ..
Your a United fan and you must concede that in the past 20 years you havent leaked goals like you have in the last few weeks at Old Trafford ..
Vidic aint no Baresi and Ferdinand aint no Beckenbauer, they are great defenders but if you put them under pressure then they will fold, especially Vidic. And its not just these 2 that i dont rate as good defenders, i put Terry and Carragher in the same bracket ..
All these teams rely on a great team to protect the defence, and when the Chelsea, Liverpool or United, Midfield are slack then the defence is going to leak more goals .. This is basic stuff for for me but hey i'll draw you a picture if you want ......
It is totally noticeable that United in the last 2 months are leaking goals, that could be tiredness but for me its because there is no energy in that midfield, Fletcher has improved and is an asset but Giggs and Scholes are finished and Carrick isnt United quality .. The United teams of the past would have already won this title by now.
TFFP, change your avator, Kessler has been hiding under his bed since he fought Calzaghe, hes done NOTHING !! Whats he waiting for ??

One of the hardest, most important and biggest parts about being a great defender is being consistent over a lengthy period. King has never even began to be in a position to prove that he can do that.

I'm not sure having Kessler in my avatar is going to affect my ability to objectively speak about football. It's probably easier for me as a Kessler fan, than it is you as a Liverpool fan, all things considered. I'm a Kessler fan through thick and thin, even though now is a particularly humilating time to be a fan. I can only hope for better luck in the future.

United have always conceded goals with anybody in defence over the years. I wouldn't claim they are Baresi, but they didn't keep so many clean sheets and pinch 1-0's by accident. Certainly not if the midfield is as poor as you claim. I wouldn't pick any particular partnership around over them.

Axl Nose, you still haven't addressed the central point of how a team with a dodgy defence, worst midfield in 20 years and drama queens and donkeys up front still doesn't look like not winning the league and somehow managed to pick up the European Cup last year.

So Schmeichel, Bruce and Pallister never conceded 4? :patsch Someone even gave you an example on this thread.

They conceded a freekick, a penalty and then lost a nothing goal when they were down to 10. It can happen to any team.

The stats show that this is a very, very successful defence.

They're also having success in europe that Bruce and Pallister could only dream of.
