If he wins, should it be retirement time for Anderson Silva? Do you want that?

What better way to go out?

There's nothing left for him to prove at middleweight.

Jon Jones would murder him, and there's no point fighting any other light-heavies.

What better time and way to go out? Never defeated in the UFC and walks away as the champion, having crushed the dreams of his most hated rival in a victory his countrymen will love him for.

He couldn't really ask for better than that, and he deserves it.

As an MMA fan, would you want the UFC GOAT to go out at the top, or fight on? :blood

    :hat

    I think he should yes.

He's in a loose/loose situation though. He wins then retires, he's ducking the next guy to come along, and if he looses he was never any good in the first place

Gotta love these combat sports ''fans''...right

The fights are only going to get harder. MW is finally getting the same level of talent we see in the other divisions. Combine that with getting older, and it's a formula for disaster. Outside the division the only mega fight he has a chance of winning is GSP, and even that isn't a guaranteed win. Anderson has looked pretty human against elite wrestlers. Jones would beat him within the first round.

Great fighter, great career, and it would be the best way to end it.

If he wins again, then yes. There is nothing more he really needs to do legacy wise. i'd say go up and win the LHW belt, and I think he could if Shogun or Rashad had it, but he's not beating Jon Jones.

But he also has to think about his family and life after fighting. If he wants to stick around and rematch Belfort or have a 3rd with Sonnen, maybe fight bisping.....all HUGE money fights. Why not? You can never have too much money. An extra million or so may be appreciated down the road.

Yes, his legacy will be sealed.

Even if he saw something in JJ, I would advise him to walk away. Hendo is at his best, and Chael landed straight punches at will, dropped him with a left. If this Saturday Night is anything like the first AS is gonna take some more punishment.

Since the Sonnen fight, he tore through Okami and Belfort with ease. If he wins on Saturday, I don't really see any of the current crop of contenders beating him either. It would be cool for his to retire on top, but the fan in me would like to see him continue.

there are NO middles who can beat him, thats been the case for years

why dont you clamour to see him stretching himself by oving up and taking on Jones?

why the hell are so many people more concerned with seeing him beat up a guy who Bisping just beat than testing himself against an equally unstoppabe looking monster?

For entirely selfish reasons, I want to see him keep fighting.

I would love to see him fight Jones. I think there is a higher chance of Jones fighting JDS than Silva, though.

Theres not been a decent fight for him at mw for the longest time. Its a joke one of the p4p greatest fighters in history has been allowed to get away with fighting in a **** weak division

a sublime talent like Silva NEEDS to be in with guys like Jones. Fedor did it with Nog and Cro Cop
