The total revenue maybe that high but that doesn't mean that the 2 headline fighters walk away with a split of 100% of the revenue. From that £60-70 mill, deductions will have to be made for site fee, the under card fighters purses, the TV networks cut, other promotional costs such as advertising, venue staff etc. I think after all the deductions you'd be lucky to see 50% split between the headline act.

So if Joshua/Parker did £40 mill, that leaves about £20 mill to split between them both. If it's a 70/30 split Joshua gets £14 mill and Parker £8 mill which is similar to what was reported as their guarantees before the fight. But Hearn is saying Parker didn't even get half of what he is now offering Wilder which is $12.5 mill or £8.8 mill. So Parker got £4.4 mill which suggests either the fight didn't generate £40 mill but more like £29 mill or Parker's split was smaller.

So Joshua/Wilder will need to do at least double what Joshua/Parker did which seems unlikely as it would mean it smashes the UK PPV record by some margin or the US PPV market generates more than anyone could hope for a mid afternoon fight which will likely have to compete with Major league baseball for viewing figures.

But I think form a 70 mill fight Joshua and Wilder would be lucky to split 35 mill of that between them. So that's 21 mill for Joshua and Wilder 14 mill if it's a 60/40 split.

    That's a good post.

Once you start to look at the event in a more realistic way the $12.5m offer looks better than it's been portrayed. I don't think Wilder was ever going to accept it, but if he truly thinks this is going to do superfight figures they could've come back with a more realistic offer to the A side than 60/40.

Maybe 30% would get it done?

Imagine Wilder's market value should he lose by KO vs. one of the underdogs he fights.

The telegraph reported Parker had a garuntee of 13 mil and AJ close to 20 mil. It is in Hearns best interest to throw out a lower figure so he doesn’t have to pay Wilder similar or more than what Parker earnt. So maybe Hearn is telling the truth but I’m not sure I can trust what he says there knowing that.

I think the fight does 60 mil-70 mil+ after, it would be the biggest fight on British soil ever revenue wise that is.

He should hope to get between 35-40 but 30-35 is the most realistic. Based on hearns calculations 12.5 works out at about 30% according to Shirley it is 12.5%.

This is such a massive opportunity for wilder he should argue for as much as possible like any negotiating fighter but he needs to realise what's fair and at what point he is throwing this opportunity away through greed.

He needs a percentage split here but he's turned down 18 million dollars already with a rematch clause. Flat fee, no good but money wise that's not an horrendous offer.

    it won't.

AJ vs Fury is the biggest, hell, any British domestic is much bigger money-wise.

I would also say Povetkin poses a larger payday due to his large Russian following.

Face it bro, Wilder doesn't draw. The only reason it holds interest is because it would be for undisputed.

Joshua is bringing the marbles to this game of marbles, and the bag, lunch, drinks, tickets to the cinema and the bus fair home. Deontay has a marble.
