Fury will panic and retire again if the Nordic Nightmare lays him out.

Yes Helenius would get credit for further exposing an overrated chinny boxer whose only notable win is against another chinny, overrated boxer with poor record.

    Wilder's legacy? what legacy?

Legacy! odd word in relation to Wilder. Helenius is a regular sparring partner of Wilder, thus a hand picked opponent. Wins over punch bag, Kownacki, is his credential for getting this huge payday, despite being flattened by Washington, Duphaus, a dismal points loss to Whyte and an outrageous robbery win over Chisora over 10 years ago.
    Legacy? don’t make me laugh!

If Helenius beats Wilder it would mean Fury in the 3rd fight destroyed the Dosser permanently.

Wilder has a reputation of a puncher, but of bags from top 300. So if Helenius beats him will only prove his so much overrated. practically everyone who can evade or survive the no doubt terrifying punch will beat him at least on points, of course if the judges are fair, not like the Fury-Wilder first fight.

But yeah, Wilder has no legs or a legacy, just a dosser.

Of course he gets credit. It would be the best win of Helenius' career.

Also, Wilder goes down in reputation. Wilder's [well deserved] rep is already that of being overprotected. Wilder took the path of least resistance his entire career (up until the Fury rematches). Losing to Helenius would prove why wilder was so protected.

I see helenius as one dimensional. Fights like a big man, doesn't move too too much, stands tall, uses the left jab to set up the powerful right, pretty good defense, fights like a large heavyweight.

I see Deontay as possibly 2 dimensional. His one dimension would be power. His next two dimensions would be complete if he knew how to box, he is halfway there. A fighter who does know/ show a lot but at the same time doesn't know chitte. So that means half of 100% on boxing skills plus fundamentals equals 2 dimensions out of three if that makes sense.

But will that one dimension (Robert helenius) be enough to stop the bronze bomber? Or vice versa?...

It will be a very good victory for Helenius whose had serious shoulders injuries in his career and some bad losses on his record.

It will be his best victory and he will be remembered a solid fighter of this era. Like Delboy is the Gatekeeper of the era. Helenius would go above him with one superior world level win.

Since Wilder has zero quality wins, it just exposes Wilder and Fury.

If Helenius beats Wilder of course he gets credit.

If Wilder was to lose so be it, he had been a World Champ for 5 yrs and regularly defended that title by beating those put before him, and that can never be taken from him.

If he lost to Helenius it could be said Wilder continued too long and should have retired after 2nd loss to Fury.

Nothing can hurt Wilders reputation for what he is recognised as having been one of the best ever, namely his punching power.

I am not a fan boy regarding Wilder, but as follower of our sport and its history i get annoyed that folk disrespect champions, the standard of opponents faced can vary, but there are plenty of opponents that even the ATGs of heavyweight history have defended against that were not exactly top drawer, coming off losses etc

No, no it's not. Because Usyk has clearly accomplished more than Joshua and he comprehensively beat him twice. Washington and Duhaupas aren't more accomplished than Helenius.

Kownacki has wins over former belt holders and contenders - he was definitely a contender but his style is not one served for longevity(pressure fighter with questionable defense) getting hit constantly even prior to those lopsided losses to Helenius appears to have taken something out of him.

It will be one of Wilders better opponents and wins if he's able to pull it off - I don't know why this such a hard thing to comprehend, it speaks more to Wilders terrible resume than it does to Helenius as a quality contender.
