If Holmes and Moorer traded places…?

    Well we are talking about a 10 year span of time, he would be unlikely to be prime for all of it and we have to factor in inconsistencies.

    It would be different if it was best vs best matchups.

    Holmes win over Mercer and going 12 with Evander makes Tyson's KO of him look a bit more impressive. Yes, Larry was inactive for 18 months, but still dangerous. I don't see a prime Holmes beating an early 90's version of Tyson. Tyson arguably hit about as hard as Shavers but was still much faster, and had better head movement and footwork.

    The only two 90s heavies I think beat Holmes are Lennox and Tyson, though Bowe would take him the distance and make a dirty fight of it. Early 90s Rudduck gives him a good fight but comes up short.

    Moorer was a hard hitting southpaw, I'm not so sure the 80s heavies have such an easy time with him. I always considered the 80s one of the weakest eras for HW division.
