If Holmes beat Spinks in the 1st fight, how long he would've held world title?

I agree. Its not a fight that I would have put any money on one way or the other. But I might still lean towards Holmes even then. Spinks was in better shape than Tubbs, awkward, more aggressive and just overall a better fighter. And it took an ill prepared Holmes to lose to him. Both Spinks and Tubbs were beatable opponents for Holmes from 1985-86, and if he HAD fought and beaten both of those men, he would have been 50-0 with two belts

yea, when I think back this was a really weak era there were some live fighters but for the most part undertrained and under motivated. A few guys had there moments and may have had a chance but unfortunately did not get to fight Larry. one thing I can say about Holmes is that he was always in condition and this was an era that was Lax or heavy drug use.

Tubbs was one of the many that made me stop watching heavyweight for a while but Tyson put a correction on the division. Too bad King got to and ruined him as well. i wonder what would have been if Cus stayed alive

Had Cus lived, Tyson might have stayed on top for a little bit longer. But in the end, I think he was just made to self destruct. And as nice as it is to believe the whole unbreakable bond that Tyson had with D'Amato, something tells me that King would have found a way to break them apart regardless of Cus living.

If Larry met up with Tony, it would've been a big mistake. They had already sparred, and according to Tony, he had beaten him during a session, or two.His boxing ability was no joke, and he had enough in 1985-1986 to upset Holmes.
