If Holyfield had been born the same year as Foreman how would his career have played out?

I'd say that's a minority opinion.....the Ali that say,,beat George Foreman is going to lose to Bowe?

He beat Foreman cause Foreman was an idiot and punched himself out.
Bowe beats a 74 Ali without too much problem.

Bowe was easier to hit than Ali was in his second fight with Frazier, he looked far quicker and trimmer in that bout.

Ali displayed faster, sharper counter punching v Foreman than Bowe displayed, Bowe was easy to counter.

Ali was more skilled and savvy than Bowe.

Yeah, that's tricky to ponder, agreed. Ali had enough left to give Frazier the hardest fight of his life, beat a very prime Ken Norton, and knock out a prime George Foreman (something no one else EVER did). He also stopped Ron Lyle, decisively beat Earnie Shavers...I'm sure I'm missing another good victory...Ellis (who at the time was far from being considered a joke, not positive on that).

Nah, Bowe head to head (even Holy I Bowe) couldn't have outsmarted or outfought early-to-mid 70s Ali imo...I'd venture he'd lose if the fight went anywhere from 1976 on. However, Bowe...just that one aforementioned night...could have beaten at least a couple of top 10 ranked ATGs imo.

Holy would have been dropped and beaten by Frazier by at least a SD (though that would have been a pretty killer match up) and I think even a late-60s Liston would have roughed him up pretty good (though I can see Holy definitely winning that one).

Ali would have outsmarted and ring general'd him to a UD in his favor. Can't see a stoppage, but Holy would have given everything in a fight like that.

Foreman is trickier. In his prime Holy almost got knocked out by George, not only in the early rounds but I believe in the 10th round as well (he went back to his corner asking if his teeth were knocked out). So, being that he was prime then, I find backing Holy on this hypothetical fight hard. Still...George had a FAR better chin and stamina in his comeback., plus he used his awe-inspiring jab a lot more overall.

Prime for prime I'll venture Holy by stoppage in 9 or 10, max, but he'd get dropped, possibly more than once. This would be an example of George's stamina being tested and exposed. He'd lose more to exhaustion and volume of Holy's punches than anything else.

No he wasn't, especially not a 70s Ali.

Look how many punches Ali blocked off Foreman, Bowe could never have evaded that amount of shots coming at him, he tended to brawl, Ali`s movement was better than Hide`s who gave Bowe problems until getting caught and Ali had a much better chin than Hide did.

Ali achieved that by laying on the ropes, but he did get hit to the body.

Perhaps Bowe would have had more trouble dealing with someone like Foreman, but that is irrelevant to the outcome of the match he'd have with Ali. Ali is not a big hitter like Foreman, so Bowe's tendency to brawl won't affect him at all.

Bowe had a better offence than anyone Ali faced in the 70s.

If Bowe brawled with Ali it would end up like the thriller in Manilla.

Nope. Bowe was stronger than Frazier and he'd KO Ali if they brawled.

Perhaps, but he only had 1 good punching hand, wheres Bowe had 2.
