He hit an old man in George Foreman 18 consecutive punches and couldn't get him outta there. He was NOT a big puncher. Average as a heavyweight at best, at best.
I can't predict for one reason. Only one of those who wrote on the thread before me made a good point IMHO that Holyfield would use the head. All kinds of scenarios can happen, Rahman's scenario can also happen
Lewis his McCall with everything but the kitchen sink and couldn't stop him. I guess Lewis couldn't punch either.
He was completely average as a Heavyweight. Not even slightly above mid-range. To call him a great puncher is far-fetched, IMO. Great how? Power? Speed? Technique? He was fine in all of these. Nothing more.
Sure it did! Just look at how guys from the 70s are stronger, factually, than people in later time periods. Ali may have been lighter and less ripped than roided up Holyfield who was bigger .... but he was stonger for sure! And Foreman was, at about 220lb, the strongest heavyweight in history. It's ULTRADUST!!! How else could they be so magnificent?
Herbie Hide, Andrew Golota, Bert Cooper... The names on his list were small but Bowe could still take a punch for how leaky his defense was. Witherspoon said that Golota was the strongest man he faced, and Bowe took that strength head on- On both his big head and his little head.
Maybe I wasn't taking enough, or something. I don't know but it did taste kinda funny.. Couldn't feel my tongue for a week. I just wanted to be like George Foreman!!!!
