Would love to see the fight and there would be no weight problems (unless B-Hop has one but cant see it as he put on like 18 pounds in one day against Pavlik). People always point to B-Hops best wins over people with weight problems, unfairly in my opinion.

I have grown to respect Hopkins immensely over the past couple of years, but the facts remain:
-- The "Big" names on Hopkins resume for the most part are guys moving up from lower weights with natural size disadvantages (DLH, Trinidad, Pavlik). Roy's resume is exactly the opposite, beating up guys who were always naturally much larger than him, AND, doing it in a MUCH more spectacular fashion. Roy was so dominant in his peak, it was absurd to even contemplate a loss -- he unanimously won almost every goddam round, and even though a lot of the names on his resume don't resound as loudly as the ones on Hopkins' do, many of them were legit current and/or future titleholders. Roy's legacy will always be better in my opinion, because I consider the bulk of his career before his drop back to down from HW. If we based a fighter's legacy on their twilight years, we would have a much different ATG list than what we have now.

Let's get it straight that Jones was the better fighter in the 90's.... But While jones has been done since '03.. Hopkins is putting some of his best win together in the last few years.. They both could ve fought better opposition in the 90's.. Jones has beaten B-hop, but i think b-hop became a much better fighter later and still is a better fighter then in 94... Jones also beat Toney, which was a massive win and ofcourse won a HW belt.. But apart from that his resume isn't that great either, he could ve fought much better oposition then he did... Same could be said for B-hop...B-hop has some great wins in the last few years.. Pavlik, Tarver and a close fight with Calzaghe... The Wright fight was to ugly and too close to be named as a possitive...

I say they are pretty even now.. But i think i'll give B-hop the edge on longetivity.. Any win from now on, if it is Dawson or Adamek, would be great.. And saying he ducks Dawson is bull****.. B-hop has nothing to prove anymore and don't have to fight anybody anymore.. Dawson has like 3 decent fighters on his resume.. Tarver and Johnson are both long past their prime.. And he probably lost the Jonhson fight.. Only adamek is a good win imo..

:patsch Just because you have a perosnal dislike for Tarver doenst mean he was ****...Tarver was the lineal at the time Hopkins dethrone him..You can add on all of those name all you want to but the fact still remains...Why do you think Calzaghe got the lineal title when he beat Hopkins? Because Hopkins was the lineal champ when he beat Tarver.

    Nice try though!:good

Nah HOPS' run at LHW was carefully crafted.

Lineal status is a cluster **** if you want to use the argument.Technically Erdei is lineal at LHW.

He has already surpassed Jones. It would put him farther ahead.

Who gives a **** what you think about Tarver...that still doesnt change his position at the point when the fight went down...He was a credible win and many boxing writers agree with the points I'm making...Like I've said before just because you have a personal dislike for Tarver doesnt change the FACT he was on top. All of that other stuff you typed is really irrelevent.

if you wanna argue about recent resumes just compare the two fighters recent fights. Hopkins recent resume is a star wars galaxy ahead of jones' ...sheika?? hamshaw?? ajamu who???
I'll take pavlik over those guys in a new york minute

Legacy wise to me Hopkins surpassed RJJ a while ago.
    The Pavlik win cemented it.

If RJJ had more dedication to the sport and not purely relied on his natural athletic gifts he could have still been a force to this day.

I think if Hopkins beats adamek and either dawson or glen he can beat Jones legacy wise.
