If Hopkins beat Dawson, is he the greatest boxer of modern times?

    whilst I accept that boxing can be cheaty, fighters can tend to be less dirty or more, and Hopkins is clearly more of it. He is of course way better than a drug cheat, I dont classify him like them, and I appreciate that making the most of the rules is vital to winning.

    I have no problem rating him as an ATG though, but calling him the greatest of the modern era is just too much for a dirty sportsman.


    Its the way I think of footballers - I dont rate Maradona as the best becuase he was a blatant unrepentant cheat and he HAD to cheat to form his leagacy, in the way Hopkins sometimes reaches for. Of course, football isnt boxing, unless you have Roy Keane on the pitch.

    I've no idea why people keep bringing up Roy Jones, steroid abuse aside he's been irrelevant for a long time now especially these last 7-8 years where he's done nothing but impersonate a lawn chair.

    Greatest modern boxer? My god, Hopkins overratedness is just ridiculous.
