He will enhance his legacy and status as an ATG boxer.

Calzaghe's win won't be any better or worse because of this fight. I think Calzaghe can possibly beat any version of Hopkins with his stamina and volume.

Hopkins was as good a win before as it is now, but it might seem more obvious that it's a quality win if he wins over yet another young talented fighter

 

I don't think the fight with Dawson helps Hopkins, I think his legacy is solid even with his loses. Calzaghe won a close decision and would not rematch Hopkins, so Calzaghe threw the wrench in his case to move up when he would not rematch after a very close decision win.

 

A win over Dawson can do a LOT for Hopkins' legacy...

 

Well it surely wouldn't hurt it either. He would cleaned out the lightheavyweight division because Pascal and Dawson are the 2 best fights in that division and he already beat the champion in Pascal.

 

Well please explain how the 3rd best lightheavyweight in world(with Hopkins being number 1 and Pascal being number 2) is gonna do a lot for his legacy when he's already established himself as an atg?

 

Hopkins beat Pascal if he beats Dawson who becomes lethargic in fight its a notch in his belt, but really what does it prove. If he loses, he finally would have shown his age. It's a fight I'm going to watch but I think dawson should have went back after Pascal the man who took his title. Dawson is making a big deal out of going after Hopkins because in my eye he seems to be the easier target. Hopefully Hopkins gives Dawson the suprise of his life and put him on his back and tell him to respect his elders.

 

Flopkins will forever be a black crying, faking and roid wannabe - he will never be an elite fighter - he got spanked by Taylor, an unknown and dearly by Calzaghe.

By the way - he is also criminal - a convicted criminal as most blacks in US.
