If Hopkins beats Dawson...

i think Dawson takes a close decision in a boring fight...

 

Hopkins legacy is already solidified ... let's not forget he beat the guy who pretty much dominated Dawson (Pascal). If he does beat Dawson, Hopkins becomes top 20 ATG in my eyes and he surpasses Mayweather, Pacquiao and RJJ....especially being that he's 47 years old.

 

honestly if Hopkins beats Dawson I will then know Dawson was overrated and Hopkins knows how to handpick. If you look at it and I am not being too critical. Hopkins has beaten ok guys, but not many greats since Trinidad. He and Mayweather have handpicked guys at the right time. It is becoming and art to pick guys at the right time, although to be honest Hopkins picks tougher guys who are younger. But similar way to do it.

well there is no way a top rated light heavyweight loses to a guy 47. No way. If that is the case we are living an overrated era in boxing. And Hopkins knows it. Hopkins and others already said the guys now do not know boxing funadamentals and do not use them. I think there is something to that. You think Hopkins could have handpicked Qawi or Spinks in the 1980s? I am just saying probably Dawson will win because he has to be better than just a guy Hopkins can beat when Hopkins struggled with Taylor years ago and lost and also Calzaghe.

Sup new. Hey man do you notice on this site guys like Calzaghe Lennox Lewis k2 and heavyweights get brought up a lot more then the 'other' one? The other one don't talk about these subjects quite as much. Also this one's 'history or classic' section is much more active. I think it just shows more boxing historic knowledge of past fights as compare to talking about Pac man all day

 

Dawson is good no doubt. But he should be able to beat Hopkins.

 

If Chad can't beat Hopkins, I'll be severely disappointed. Hopkins would of course get credit for beating a guy with true A level talent though....but it would be damning to Chad's career.

What does being from philly have to do with who you think is gonna win the fight? I'm from NY, and I think Hopkins will win the fight. It's a 50/50 fight in my book and I can see another Jermaine Taylor situation where Dawson is more active in certain rounds and Hopkins is more accurate and landing cleaner effective punches than him and making him fight his fight. I can also see another Pascal situation where he looks good the first half of the fight and B-Hop dominates the second half. We'll see though.
