I respect Hopkins, but how many of them would you call elite level middleweights?

Trinidad was a great win IMO, but I also have questions of just how good he was at MW.. I don't rate the Hoya win as great, as I thought Sturm beat him clearly, Johnson was a solid win, Joppy was a decent fighter... Fighting Allen 3 times says something to me about the weakness of the era, but Ill call him a solid fighter.

I think Calzaghe's three best wins, Eubank, Lacy, Kessler stack up well against Hopkins' wins.. But with Calzaghe you don't have any losses. I give Calzaghe the nod here.

Who did he beat that makes you think that?
Calzaghe has a win over Eubank and undefeated Kessler, which I feel is better than anything on Hopkins resume, as well as having a win over Hopkins himself.
Dont try and make out a blown up WW was a great MW win please

You made a blanket statement and want to confine it to the participants of the super six only. You cant claim only one weight class has home field advantage, just doesnt work that way ta ta. Bottom line is there is no advantage at the highest level and this is easily proven.

 

It's tough because no matter how many times they fight I see Joe winning most of the time head to head .

 

Joe drew with Hop in my book and Eubank was shot and weight drained. A lot of people gave Hopkins the fight. It could of went either way.

Calzaghe threw the towel in rather than fight Dawson. Hop if fighting a guy that would destroy Dawson at 49 years old.
Hopkins is will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time when it all said and done. Far above Calzaghe.

I was talking strictly Hopkins' MW reign compared to Calzaghe's SMW reign.

When Bernard feels Sergey's power he will look to quit like he did against Dawson. Super Joe is the greatest SMW of alltime. Bernard isn't the best at any weightclass and he beat Bernard H2H...no contest.
