If Hopkins beats Kovalev I will rank him above Calzaghe in ATG status

If you don't already think he is above Calzaghe that is just stupid. I am a fan of Calzaghe and he was great, but Hopkins career is miles above Calzaghe's

 

very good -trick question! joes not an atg, hes backdoor hall of fame, and wouldn't have that if he was a LHW and not a protected minnow title holder in a young division that barely has more than one ATG in its history yet.

 

What kind of ATG list do you have where Joe C is above Nard? Bhop could lose 20 fights from now to the end of his career and he'd still above Joe. Jeez......reading the title had me in tears.

Who did he beat that makes you think that?
Calzaghe has a win over Eubank and undefeated Kessler, which I feel is better than anything on Hopkins resume, as well as having a win over Hopkins himself.
Dont try and make out a blown up WW was a great MW win please

 

Off the top of my head Tito, DLH, Pavlik Tito+DLH is enough to far eclipse Joe's best wins. And there fight was a tossup

 

You have to look at the wins at the time and what they had done in the weight divisions they were fighting at.
Tito hasnt had a good MW career
DeLa Hoya hasnt had a good MW career
Pavlik had no LHW career of note

Tito was a former WW who had been put down 7 times at lower weights that I know of and exposed by Oscar.
That isnt even as good as Calzaghe beating undefeated winner of several world title fights Lacy

Hopkins ranks higher than Zags and rightfully so. Unless of course your criteria is using a 43 year old Hop who lost a SD and a near 50 year old who lost to Kov.

 

Calzaghe is ahead of Hopkins, just behind Taylor and Dawson.
