If Hopkins Beats Pavlik....then what?

    I think he would retire...........because a guy like Hopkins will never go out a loser....Or he might chase down Jones but i doubt it unless he somehow gets by Calzaghe which i dont think todays version of Roy will.

    If Hopkins wins and Jones loses, let's hope Hopkins calls it a career.

    If Hopkins wins and Jones wins, well, let's get the long-awaited rematch and then have them both retire.

    The reason is that Pavlik is a key figure in the 160-175 realm right now. He is the hope (at least the US hope) for the future. It would be ok if he lost to Kessler, Ward or maybe even Bute... because then we could have a rematch down the track and the legacy would be kept in the game.

    IF Hopkins wins the legacy will be taken out and when he retires the scene may look dull (especially to casual fans). IT will be bad for boxing if Hopkins beats Pavlik.
