Two things can be said 1 that hopkins would be fresher, or two Pavlik would pressure him more. But that could in turn tire pavlik, i would say a ten round fight favors BHOP.... what yall think seems like they trying to force more action making it ten rounds

pavlik would be too busy if it goes 12. but like calzaghe, i wouldn't give pavlik a prayer of beating a prime hopkins.

like him or hate him, the man was a supremo tactician. i mean that completely.

10 wouldn't be an exhibition simply because it goes against the norm....

    Does it matter?

10 rounds or 12 . . . Bhops will be moving and holding and clinching and sneaking in . . . one punches at a time . . . and if Pavlik fails to hurt the old guy early and repeatedly . . . an upset is in the offing.

I haven't made up my mind yet who to pick . . . but honestly . . . I'm hoping Pavlik would knock out Bhops so the old guy and retire once and for all.

I can't figure out who to pick either... Its a toss-up for me... I would like to see Pavlik win though, even though B-Hop is one of my fav's... I just don't want to see Hopkins pass up my favorite (RJJ) in terms of ATG:lol:

and it would be good for the young star to shine on, so Im gonna root for Pavlik.

Ditto - if it's another split decision we'll hear all Bhop's bitching and moaning again. Then he'll call out the winner of Calzaghe-Jones. Blah blah blah.

I doubt it. Pavlik hits harder than Calzaghe. I don't see Bhop finding a place to hide in the clinch. Joe met him half way to make those happen. Kelly has already alluded to the fact he can keep Hopkins off him with his power. Sounds like they are already planning for this.

    calzaghe's a good fighter-boxer.

    kelly's more a slugger and i don't think it'll be that simple.

At this point Calzaghe is more boxer, less fighter. People on this forum REALLY under estimate FIGHTER. See Cotto/Margarito.

Ten rounds seems to be a big help to Hopkins. If I was inside the Pavlik camp I would demand 12. Pavlik is a good fighter and looks to have a big career in front of him. But Hopkns is a great fighter and a supreme craftsmen. Age is catching up with him and he can't keep up the pace needed to beat these younger guys. Make the fight shorter and it only helps eliminate one of his biggest weaknesses. If Pavlik uses the 10 round limit to increase his output it will only give Hopkins more countering chances. I'm pulling for Pavlik because boxing needs a new bankable star and he has the chance. But I think Hopkins wins no matter if its 10 or 12 but 10 rounds I see him being a solid favorite.

Don't know, but it would help BHOP considering his age. But then again, the less time could mean Pavlik forces the issue. According to BoxRec, it is still listed as for 12 rounds.

It favours Hopkins. It's only fair it's 12. If Bernard cant do 12, then he should quit.
