Actually, it wouldn't necessarily favor Hopkins. We've only seen Pavlik go over 10 rounds one time in his career, and it was agianst a fighter who was faster, fresher, and harder hitting than Bernard. And on top of all that, he had already been in the ring with Pavlik and had an idea of what to expect. Don't get me wrong, Bernard knows exactly what Pavlik is capable of and he's intelligent enough to do his homework, but if it's 10 rounds, Pavlik might fight harder. Stamina won't really be an issue because Hopkins is going to try to slow the pace down with excessive clinching and moving, so Pavlik might as well try to get him out of there as fast as possible. Although, Hopkins is also the older man and didn't really appear to start tiring until about the 9th or 10th round when he fought against Calzage, so regardless, I would have to say that 10 rounds more than likely favors Hopkins. If I was Kelly, I would push for 12 and try to end it before 10.
I look for the movement. I just watched the Winky fight. Winky did a fair amount of lunging trying to land a punch. I don't think Pavlik will get drawn into that. He is pretty disciplined. Hopkins won't get to clinch as much with Pavlik. Look at the end of the video in BigBone's thread where the reporter says 'understood'.
I'm really confident that Pav will stop BHop inside 10 rounds, so it really doesn't matter. And by the way, I really like what KP said about BHop's dirty tactics: "I've got elbows and a head too."
