Would Hopkins have KO'd Pavlik? I think yes. I think that Pavlik having been schooled for 12 rounds and being beaten embarassingly in the 12th was on the verge of being stopped, had there been another 2 rounds. I think that championship or high level fights should be made for 15 rounds again. It is not like either of these guys could not go the distance physically and it would be more entertaining had Hopkins got the KO. It is better for boxing and makes it superior again to other sports like mma.
Yes to 15 rounds for high level and championship fights, and not just Hopkins winning by KO in a 15 rounder?
Yes, I don't think that would have made a way bigger difference, maybe Hopkins would have picked his shots more but still I don't see Pavlik being able to handle it for 15, I would say if it was a 15 rounder that Pavlik gets TKO'd in the 14th or his corner just throws in the towel there.
I know it's a joke but Pavlik wasn't that fresh either, the punches he took got him all dazed and tired too.
Pavlik was just getting warmed up. He was cheated by the rules. Also, if you look at the corner, his cornermen didn't tell him what round it was often enough. That's why Pavlik was so reserved in the 12th: he thought it was still the middle-rounds.
