Calzaghe was to fight Steve Collins ( who also was emi retired)

Collins pulled out due to Health problems, So Eubank who was supposed to fight Mark Prince at light Heavyweight was called up 1.5 weeks prior to the fight.

Eubank had to lose 14 lbs in 1 week to face Calzaghe, also the WBO sanctioned this fight as a world title fight.

Talk about a bogus Championship fight, Frank Warren can get away with murder.

end of the day if hopkins was a few years younger he would of holded less and came forward more therefore being outboxed and hit more by joe, if anything the only was bernard could win IMO is to KO joe which would never happen, joe wins by the same margin if not more again prime bernard

 

I do not dislike Calzaghe at all, he is a class act an elite fighter, a role model for any aspiring fighter.

I am a Brit, but my view is totally impartial it is based on fact. Hopkins @ his peak is the better fighter.

It is a testomany to his conditioning he was able to make a competitive fight at his age.

the answer is no, yes Norris would have been a handfull, but we all agree Ray was the better fighter. the scenario is the same here.

 

i would go along with that...except if the fight were in the uk with a prime hopkins i'd still make him favourite...

If Hopkins would have been a few years younger the result would have been the same, only difference Hops wouldnt have to fake a low blow to get a breather.

 

Hopkins was better at 35 then at 30, Calzaghe was better at 30 then at 35.

 

I think if Hopkins was 10 years younger he would still not have thrown many more punches he never has done.
I hate almost all boxing fans they're simply idiots; people said Calzaghe would lose to Lacy, but Calzaghe batterd him and so people said Lacy was ****. People thought Kessler would KO Calzaghe but Calzaghe 100% out boxed him, then people said Kessler was another European hype job. People said Hopkins would out class Calzaghe, but Joe beat Hopkins so people all said Hopkins was past it! **** off!
