BS. Hopkins made his name in his old age by beating naturally smaller fighters like De la Hoya and Trinidad. What happened the first time he fought a natural middle weight with skills (Jermaine Taylor)? He lost. What happend the second time? He lost again. Hopkins does great against smaller guys who are past their best or overrated guys like Pavlick. A proper middleweight in his prime like Hearns, Hagler, or Leonard would easily out work him and win a lopsided decision. His tactics just wouldn't work on the old pros.

Neither Leonard or Hearns were in their primes at middleweight.

Leonard beat Hagler at middleweight. I'd call that pretty prime. Hearns, okay. He was more successful at welter. But it's not like he was a shot fighter when he fought at middleweight, was it? He might have be past his absolute best, but he was still quite good.

those guys would have derailed his career early. I think it is easier to do what he did in the 1990s, and by the time he fought Tito he had a wealth of experience.

I agree about Hearns, and while I think Hagler won, I do consider Leonard a very good middle. Im not hating on your post, im just saying that it wasnt their prime:good

If Taylor can "beat" Hopkins with speed, volume, and movement, a better skilled SRL can do the same. Hopkins is no more powerful than Hearns, so there is no worry in my opinion of a stoppage.

SRL wins on activity, which has cost Hopkins 4 fights in his career so far. Roy, Taylor X2, and Calzaghe.

you guys get mad but it the truth. Hopkins is a thinker and he takes you out your comfort zone. With Sugar Ray he would have made it ugly by holding hitting, he would just punish leonard. As for Haglar the guy is just too short. Hopkins would have put on a boxing clinic and grab and mall him in close when needed. Benard is good at what he does even in his old age look at what he did to Tarver ahh you must have forgot, Antwun Echols and the list goes on and on. At 45 he's still the man he's about to show Dawson how you beat Pascal.

Hopkins is a great fighter, but skilled guys that have fast hands, quick feet, and throw a lot of punches, (usually just flash), have a tendency to beat him.

Yep, cause Echols and Tarver are comparable to Hagler, Hearns and Leonard.

    Dumbass.

Leonard - I see BH losing a wide UD against Leonard the speed of hand and foot would be too much and his angles would confuse the **** out of him.
Hagler - This would be a war but I see Hagler coming through a close decision I think switch hitting would be the key.
Hearns - This is the only fight that I see BH winning out of the three. I think back foot fighting would get him a KO win.

Speed guys Jermaine Taylor was big but Im not sure he won the first fight. Sugar ray would have recieved the same treatment Oscar did and lay down when the heat got turned up because of fear. Haglar I cant see it he's too predictable Hopkins would beat him easily it would be a dog fight but an easy win
