Armstrong lost 3 of his first 4 fights. Hopkins is near Armstrong in ATG rankings,Floyd couple of steps behind. win against Kovalev and i would definetly put Hopkins to top ten.maybe even top5. to me definetly greatest fighter since Roberto Duran
I couldn't help think of when Hopkins did a throat slash gesture and then fought cautious and boring fight and Floyd Mayweather called him out for it. At least Floyd doesn't make a throat slash gesture.:yep
I don't put Mayweather or Hopkins anywhere near Armstrong but that's me. You obviously view both Mayweather and Hopkins in a different light than I do.
It's debatable if he wins in dominant fashion. What he's accomplished has been amazing and is etching out a legacy that will only galvanize as time goes on. But is Kov a p4p fighter right now? No.. But he is recognized as the top LHW champ so a win for the old me will mean a lot becuase Bhop will be breaking his own record....again.
Hopkins 10-15 and Mayweather 20-30.but it's just opinions and impossible to find correct answers.and my opinions are probably biased because i tend to maybe overrate modern fighters and underrate warriors from the past. but sure they are both ATG'S if not then it's impossible to future fighters archieve ATG status.if boxing stays the same.many posters and historians value number of fights.
Good post! I have Mayweather at about 30 and Hopkins somewhere between 40 and 50. What Hopkins is doing is amazing but I can't get past the fact that Hopkins best wins are against fighters that are smaller than him.
1. no one active is miles ahead of floyd. 2. Floyd is young? other than hopkins name another 3 fighters near forty at the top of their divisiom or top 10 p4p
Hopkins who was beaten by Calzaghe, and by Taylor and Pascal who both was beaten by Froch..............
