If Hrgovic had punching power, would his chances of winning against top fighters increase?

Yes. More so I think he could increase his power also with the right team and some adjustments. Fury, Usyk and Parker all managed it.

I think it would reduce some other aspects of his game though as a result, he would have to throw less volume and probably make himself more vulnerable as a result.

I've just watched Hrgovic against Adeleye in round 8. Hrgovic is pathetic. Itauma destroys him in 1 and sends him to hospital.

I'm shocked that this bum still has avid worshippers.

For sure. It's actually ridiculous someone hasn't taught him how to punch properly or at least instilled into him to do so way more often than he does as opposed to throwing countless arm punches. It should be easily fixable. He's a big, strong extremely tough dude with good skills and he should be working behind a snappy hard jab and a powerful right hand which he turns into when he throws it and a proper left hook too instead of that slapping one he throws

The shot he dropped Adeleye with was very hard and I think his left hook downstairs did sound like it had more weight to it too

I think he already hit quite hard (when he sits on his punches). His last two opponents had a good chin, this is why they weren't KOed.

He hit Dubois with dozens of right hands and he couldn't even put him down.

He's got accuracy, but he doesn't have enough power. So yes, more power will make him a much more capable fighter.

there's a guy on youtube called Richard Dwyer and he still says Hrgovic is the "heir apparent", future of the division. He's doubled down on it and can't find the integrity to just admit he was totally wrong

Hrgo would be right near the top, if he could bang. But he can't, so he's fringe top 10 at best imo.

Hrgo having power and not is the difference between him KOing Parker and losing a wide points decision for instance.

Also needs to sort his stamina out, and not sure how so but it would also help if he had more durable/thicker skin to stop him from being cut every time he gets hit.

Yes it would improve his chanced but they are low to begin with. Slow hands, poor stamina, goes into a shell under attack, takes way too many clean punches.

Think Joe Joyce had a granite chin? Well he did till he didn't. Hrgovic can take a punch but he's eating too many and eventually it will cause him great harm.

I feel like if he wants to improve his punching power he needs to get a trainer with better pedigree, like Sugar Hill from the Kronk Boxing Science Facility located in Detroit, a great family city with quite a few amusements.

Look what happened to Fury after relearning how to punch. He went from KO'ing Cunningham with a series of four punches to getting the towel thrown in against Wilder in 7rounds, then KO'ing Wilder in 11 rounds.

Why have all these fights go the distance and take all that punishment when you can finish them in 11 rounds?

Hrgovic is an arm puncher, I saw very minimal use of his hips I watched him in his most recent fight and was disappointed to see his punching mechanics he threw at the end of his reach and threw his uppercut with basically nothing behind it. Yes Filip could fix it easily, he'd probably hit monstrously hard if he followed one basic principle.

It's a very simple fix too, it says either his team is incompetent or Hrgovic is stubborn... let the hips do the work, they should move your shoulders not the other way around.
