Victor Ortiz is true champion IMO.

He had some bad luck, first when got sucker punched by Floyd and then when his jaw was broken by Josesito Lopez.

I disagree. They guy had a well managed career. Fought always at home, had his chances to fight for the belt and won a belt against Berto. Then he defended it against the PPV star and got his big payday...

Then he lost his hunger and lost to two guys who was supposed to beat. I don't feel sorry for him.

I feel sorry for guys with bad managers, who had to travel far from home to fighting for peanuts, on short notice and being robbed if they don't ko the local fighters... Men who never got their deserved title shot...

Damn... I don't feel sorry for Ortiz.

Ortiz's career got ruined by May

There were huge rumours going around that Mayweather destroyed Ortiz's jaw... cracked it horribly!!!

Ortiz's career got ruined by Maidana & Lopez

    LOL

Floyd put Ortiz back on a level he should never have been by putting him in the ring with him.

    I can't imagine how.

Ortiz made more money than (and I'm guessing here) 90% of the boxers who ever take up the sport.

He was given a number of chances even after some questionable behavior and then was given the chance of a lifetime to fight on the biggest stage currently possible -- against Mayweather -- where he acted like a weirdo and got KO'd.

That said, he got out while he was young and intact.

The fighters I feel sorry for are the ones that toil in obscurity because of a lack of talent or connections, grind for long, brutal years, and then hang the gloves up with no fan fair and a early onset dementia.

Darnell Boone is a guy I feel much more sorry for. Potential to have done so much more.

I wonder what Ortiz he's doing since he doesn't fight.
