Well when you consider his bizarre antics, both inside and outside the ring, I think there is a very interesting, 'human' story to tell. And I think it inherently has an almost Kubrickian vibe to it, myself.

Yeah I have no doubt there are plenty of ways to make a film about Mayweather a good one.

I'm just making the point to Janitor that, even if it was a bad film it'd sell by his name anyway

Barny Ross is one I would consider. Quite a life, from Champion, drug addiction, hero in WW2. You could throw in the night he beat Ceferino Garcia with one hand.

Well, of course! And let us not forget the greatest front man in rock and roll history; Peter Wolf of J. GEILS!

The crossover appeal of this movie would be HUGE, if Justin Bieber, 50 cent, and Ms. Jackson have roles in he film...

Micky Ward was a true throwback fighter. However, if that Hollyweird racist, Mark Wahlburg, wasn’t so fixated on all things Boston, the Micky Ward story would’ve never been told.

The movie Fences is loosely based on Burley. Instead of a washed up boxer who works as a trash collector, the story deals with a never made it baseball player, turned trash collector, turned bitter man.

I believe the creator of Fences knew Burley during his (the creator’s) childhood, growing up in Pittsburgh.

Emile Griffith...came of age as a black man during an era that was racially divided and way less tolerant of homosexuals, which he was. Plus he killed a man in the ring. If Pazienza and Micky Ward could have movies made about them, im sure there’s a writer/director who could give Griffith his due.

Aaron Pryor would be another good movie. Flight of The Hawk is a great book, if you can get your hands on a copy.

Do you start with the part where he shoots his pregnant wife in the stomach or leave that 'till act 3?

Think I'll finish watching that tonight. August Wilson is the third best playwright America has ever produced, right after Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams. It's a crime that of his work only two plays have been adapted to film.

There should be a AAA DC Comic style franchise for boxing legends.
