Wouldn't be surprised if Wahlberg evolved in his values and beliefs over the years but his **** definitely wasn't normal. Unless it's normal for teenagers to racially terrorize small kids and hit 9-year old black girls in the heads with rocks. Or to rob Vietnamese storeowners and knock them unconscious with sticks while yelling racial slurs at them, etc. He was a troubled kid turned racist low-life thug on the path to ruin who eventually made good (ironically?) because a black music producer thought his big brother had star power.

A movie where Mayweather regrets becoming a filthy rich celebrity who cavorts with beautiful women, buys whatever outlandish pleasures he wants, and has a 24-7 detail of obsequious yes men because a lot of non-black boxing fans say mean things about him? Would probably take a whole lot of dramatic license but sure, why not?

Not condoning it definitely. But Tyson and Liston and Monzon and Graziano, and likely Dempsey and Sullivan... and so many others were thugs in their younger years. If you want to attach the label "racist" and say that violence is worse because of this, that is your prerogative. However, in most cases I think it is more symptomatic than causal. Groups create and demonize the other along the convenient lines available in order to exert their power.

That said, I am not totally familiar with Marky Mark, so maybe he is a true psychopath.

That's fair. And I'm definitely more judgmental of guys like Monzon who continue to act like brutes after they've made it big.

remember what you as a serious Boxing Fan knows about Boxing in general and about specific fighters more specific, well that just isn't enough to fill a Major Motion Picture and/or satisfy the paying public.

to this end a Boxing film MUST have All the Ingredients and more often than not it's Period Drama, Story and Elements that capture all of these things...

the Story MUST have substance, injustice, triumph and suffering, and too that end, here is the story/film.

He caught a rarely imposed break for his racially motivated hate crime in 1986. Then two years later, he reoffended. I’m sorry, but he was an ACTIVE racist then and his motives for an appeal to expunge his record are impure.

As owner of a hamburger franchise, I believe it’s called Wahlburgers, he appealed to expunge his record for the sake of obtaining a California liquor license, which he can not obtain, due to said charges. I’m with Kristyn Atwood on this one...he’s still a racist, albeit a dormant one. Let’s let the record stay intact.

Edwin Valero might make an interesting subject. A dark gritty anti hero the opposite of Rocky type boxing movie Clearly not for Hollywood. His training in Japan, the fights in South America, his Championships, his associates outside the ring and the madness that followed him through out his career, culminating in the horror of his downfall.

Jerry Quarry. Right from the start to the bleak end .filmed in black and white the comebacks the partys the drugs flash back to his tough child hood! I imagine it a a bit like bad lieutenant original version.Wouldn't be easy viewing but could be interesting
