Mayweather was a great fighter, but just as great a self-promoter. Would he be undefeated today if he fought prmie Quartey, Paquiao, Moselyx2, Chavezx2, Trinidad, Hopkins, Whitaker...I just don't see it Dawg. A guy like Oba Carr who was one of DLH's "blah" defenses was better than Maidana. He was 48-2 when he fought DLH.

This is as ridiculous as Larry Holmes continualy crying about losing to Mike Tyson! We all know a prime, ready Holmes, piston jabs Tyson into submission by round 6.

You're being too harsh. Floyd doesn't suck. He's just overrated and should not be undefeated.

Old Oscar ran Floyd close, guy. I had it a draw. There's a reason he ducked the rematch.

Prime De La Hoya wouldn’t have ko’d Floyd, but it’s possible he’d have beaten him. Possible, not guaranteed. He wasn’t that over the hill when they fought.

It's possible he could have KO. Demarcus Corley and a shot Shane Mosley both almost put Mayweather out, surely a prime ATG like Oscar has a shot.

Yes you are and the idiot (@Pimp C ) liking your post is too.

I'm a fan of neither fighter but I respect everything that both have achieved in the sport.

But again the very best version of DLH beats the very best version of Floyd.....although we know DLH actively fought guys in their prime as opposed to Floyd who never beat a prime HOF or ATG....so we know DLH would make the fight but would Floyd?

Old Oscar was a more comprehensive fighter and the younger prime version, while Floyd was pretty darn complete at his prime.

Floyd takes away Oscar's left hook and outpoints him to an easy UD in a prime vs prime fight.

No no that argument doesn't work. Hagler didn't have the earlier, day before weigh-in advantage...for a start...In which to fight at Light Middleweight (if you like) and have plenty of time to re-hydrate his body to full fighting weight capacity. Moreover the Super Middleweight division was formed in 1984 by the then low cred fledgling IBF--Their inaugural champ was Murray Sutherland. So the aging, cementing his legacy, Hagler in 84 should move up (ignoring the beasts and/or legends who later fought him at MW) to challenge Murray Sutherland for the low cred un-established division and sanctioning bodies new Super Middleweight title? Give me a break. Both were out of bounds for different reasons.Boxing has changed in my lifetime....and some younger than me, should realise and acknowledge the changes, and how they have changed the sport.

"I was too old when I fought Mayweather." says ODLH, speaking of his 34-year old self.

Mayweather's record after turning 34: Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, Canelo, Maidana, Pacquaio, Berto

Sour grapes indeed. If we're going to play what-ifs in this fight - what if he fought Mayweather at his prime weightclass?

More wishful thinking you're pathetic and will never learn. Pbf is a better fighter than oscar period end of discussion. When they met pbf won easily 9-3 8-4 at worst. Oscar is a one handed fighter with above average hand speed and a jab who fades that's it. Oscar obviously didn't think he was better because he hired pbfs dad to teach him how to fight like his son. Oscar is the ultimate pbf Stan and pbf is two levels above him and beats any version of him.

I am not implying anything, I am saying straight out that Oscar was ducking Mayweather. Mayweather has never been a nobody and has always been touted as an elite fighter. What happened was that Oscar looked at Floyd and saw his conqueror and did what he could to evade the inevitable. The proof is in the pudding, Mayweather has outshined him in every aspect of the game.

Corley never almost had pbf out stop. That same round pbf turned it up on him.
