says the guy who can't differentiate between whose, who's, and doesn't know how to use "hence".:lol::hi:

For the love of god Hans, learn how to use hence. Putting a why after hence is not the proper way to use it LOL. Don't use words that are too big for you :nono.

Can we stick to the point.

Put it this way if your able to make 2000k a week working in your local hospital as a doctor where you don't have to do. Much, why would you want to move to Iraq and work in a hospital that has been bombed to the ground 4 times in the last year for marginally more money?

Wars must be getting great job satisfaction fighting the likes of Paul smith across the road from his house for 2 million and fair play to him the man has got himself a grey deal and is being paid 10 times what his worth for it, why knock him

I agree with the OP. There's just not enough money to get these guys to fight top competition if they demand millions of dollars to fight guys who should be their sparring partners. The total boxing budget in the US is generally like 50 million dollars between 30 mil from HBO, 20 mil from showtime, and maybe 1 or 2 million from regular tv. Paying these huge figures for mismatches means there's less money in the budget for good competitive matches, especially when nobody wants a competitive match between two top contenders for less than 5 million.

Ironically, you'd probably see more high level match ups if purses got lowered. That used to be the function of Showtime. HBO hired most of the top fighters to long term contracts, but Showtime with it's smaller budget would only pay for good one off fights, no mismatches. Then Showtime tried to get competitive with HBO, signed top fighters to exclusive contracts, and both companies put on mismatches. We basically got two leagues.

He has no incentive too, he can make tons of cash fighting low level journeymen , no need to step up

Because Two mil is a lot for a peasant like you doesn't mean its the same for a world class athlete like Andre Ward.

The guy does not have a history of taking soft touches and there is no reason why he should now.

He has always said that he wants to become a ppv star, that's a good incentive right there.

    Mind your business gramsey.

Yes but when you get paid 2 million for a fight like that and you won't get paid much more if not the same for a hard fight, why take hard fights

Roc is losing money on Ward, if they continue to pay him like that they will be out of business in few years.
    Simple as that.
