The difference: Germany doesn't have PPV - a manipulative tool for brainwashing and ripping off boxing fans. At leas 10 million Germans tune in to watch Klitshcko fights compared to 700-800 thousand PPV subscriptions in the UK (probably 2-3 million viewers at most). Who's the winner?

 

Say thanks to the cult of David Haye. People will only spend a certain amount on watching boxing, surely they will choose to watch the biggest hype job out there. So yes, Haye should push for 70% at the expense of you, his daft followers, and, sadly, other British boxers. David the Exciter my ass!

 

I was thinking the same thing. A guy like Froch is taking big risks and delivers big fights and probably makes a fraction of what other peer belt holders in Europe make.

Is Froch not on PPV in the UK? If so why not? Is his persona maybe not as marketable? The fights of his that I've seen I thought were highly entertaining and even quite spectacular (round 12 Kessler - Froch).

If anyone deserves big bucks then its Froch, unfortunately boxing politics/promoters/causal fans may think otherwise.

 

The Klitschkos can quite easily fill 40 000-50 000 seats in Germany when fighting ordinary competition, therefore they can consistently generate much more than David Haye at the gate.

David Haye did very good numbers because he was fighting a very popular local fight. You should compare all figures from the last 5 fights of each individual instead.

Also, marketing wise, the Klits generate quite more than you think worldwide. David Haye brings money from the UK...while the Klitschkos bring more worldwide.

 

Similarities with football...in Germany you have big crowds watching all the matches but cannot sell the product elsewhere because the football is boring and unsexy.Whilst in the Premiership you have slightly less crowds but they have a far better product to sell and people around the world buy it.I think maybe German Sports Entertainment as a whole is still stuck in the 1980's when the best of the Sporting World has moved on.

 

I ask this every time a number is thrown around for the Ruiz fight on PPV - can someone actually provide a legit source for their numbers? Because I have not seen one major article give a numebr for that event.

Haye has always planned on making the big money quick and getting out young,he does'nt need to protect his marketability over a sustained period of time like the Vlad.Stands to reason its Vlads people who would be worried about a KO or loss today.I don't think we will ever see a KO artist be allowed in the same building as Vlad for a couple of years yet.

From what I can see its only espn that gives them extra money as stated their German broadcaster is free to air and can be picked up free anywhere over Europe all the way to Dubai , so who are these worldwide people that youre talking about /?
