If I was Miguel Cotto I wouldn't go for a rematch with Margarito. There is not reason for it other than pride. He can always do that later. After Margarito got caught cheating not even mexicans want to see him. But Mosley became a hot item. Everybody will pay to see a rematch with Mosley. Cotto won the first but it was a pretty close fight, The money is with Mosley. Margo doesn't even deserve the opportunity. May be later....... Not now.

People seem to be forgetting Cotto did beat Mosely; yes Mosley just destroyed Margarito and deserves the limelight, but he did still get beat by Cotto. This title picture is absolutely not cleared up yet.

I think most people living, boxer or not, cares about their pride! Therefore, I gotta disagree with you, unless you don't care about pride!

Cotto beat Mosley - by an extremely narrow margin, with the crowd overwhelmingly in his favor, in his backyard, as the HBO house fighter. There's all sorts of unfinished business there.

Mosley at the time did not protest the outcome. Later he said that he felt he won. I picked Cotto to win, and scored it for Cotto - but it was close. Cotto had every advantage. Including a crude, underperforming Mosley. Shane did not look good that night.

I had the cotto mosley fight even or if not mosley by 1. Very close but Cotto didn't want to give Mosley the immediate rematch, So if i was Mosley I would wait and see if there is more money out there with the winner of the Hatton/Pac-man fight or see if Money May will take the fight.

Good post, Rafa. Still, I would definitely fight Margo again if I was Cotto. There's all sorts of unfinished business there as well.

    Hey, CX7. :bbb

If Cotto wants to fight what's left of Margarito, that's his call. It's not an especially good fight for real fans at this particular point in time, however. Cotto's fans probably want to see it. Boxing fans are more interested in what's good for the division and the sport itself.

    Sup Rafa. :bbb

So you're calling me an unreal fan and do you mean Cotto fans are not boxing fans?

    :D

OK seriously now, I wanted to ask you that cause I noticed a post of yours in another thread stating that Margarito is finished as a fighter. Don't you think you're jumping to conclusions a bit too fast? I mean, Cotto lost in devestating fashion vs Margo, but that doesn't necessarily mean that now he's a broken fighter that can't come back strong. Surely it was a very bad loss for Margarito, but there's a reason people say "styles make fights". It was proved that Shane was all wrong for Margarito, but imo that doesn't mean Margo is damaged goods just cause of one loss.

The rematch might still be on anyway, that's the best way for BOTH guys to redeem themselves. Cotto needs it and Margarito needs it, whoever wins gets a shot. I'm sure Mosley will be hoping to see Cotto so he could get a chance to avenge his loss.

CX7, there is no comparing what Cotto has been through to what Margarito has been through. Margarito has been getting beat up in the pro ranks since he was a 15 year old kid.

It's been apparent to anyone who has seen more than 10 or 20 Margarito fights over the years that he's been slowing down hard and fast the last series of WARS. Not many people get it, in other words..

I have said directly countless times that I thought Margarito looked like crap beating Cotto. He was always slow - now it's gotten to the point where he can barely move. His reaction times are ****ing terrible.

When extremely tough and durable guys like Margarito start getting hurt and stopped - that's it, dude. They're millimeters away from getting disabled or killed in the ring. No joke.
