Plant should only retire in some bizarro alternate universe where he has to keep fighting Canelo over and over again for a small purse. Short of that he should keep fighting.

 

Looks like Canelo vs Benevidez could be a real possibility for May.

 

I think he makes a lot because the PPV would be astronomical. The fight sets him up for life but I suspect he will regain the world title next year or year after at the latest as Canelo will have to give up some of the belts. Plant is a quality fight. He lost to Canelo but he can beat most of the super middleweights.

 

When Canelo vacates his super middle weight belts, there is a chance Plant may win a title again. So, he may get another 1-2 Million $ match. He shouldn't retire.

 

Every single super middle who can't beat Canelo should hang em up.

 

Yeah, every boxer that's not the champion should just retire.
Boxing cards should just be the champion shadow boxing, and maybe the under-card can have a youtuber fighting a rapper.

 

I agree. His name is now elevated after fighting and losing to canelo. Even in defeat, his post canelo purses are likely going to be larger than his pre canelo purses.

 

He and Saunders should fight.
