The 900+ punches he threw against Tua is still a record for heavyweights. He served 15 years for attempted ***ual assault and battery. Tyson did 3 years for ****. He was a whack job but he was diagnosed with bipolar. He was to be deported upon his realease but because of ebola in his native Nigeria he has been held in immigration detention. His is a sad story similar to Tony Ayala jr. His defeat of Tua and Byrd would suggest he had the potential to be the best heavyweight to come out of africa.

You do not have a clue....
I knew Ike from the day he walked in to Curtis Coke's Home of Champions gym in Dallas fresh from Nigeria, He said " I'm going to be God's world heavyweight champion & no one can stop me" He would have done so had it not been for a lying Vegas hooker.
In a way Ike was manufactured by the training of one of the best trainers going Curtis Cokes. Curtis transformed Ike from a crude brawler to almost the perfect heavyweight in 20 fights
He boxed the brawler, Tua & blasted the boxer Byrd.
What happened to Ike was a tragedy . He was kept in jail 14 months sedated like a zombie almost while they badgered him to take plea They said do it & you'll be back boxing in 6 months
Ike always professed his innocence but eventually agreed to plead no contest. But instead of doing what they promised the judge gave Ike the MAXIMUM sentence 5-30 years/ In my mind he was railroaded.
Sure Ike suffers mental problems today, but wouldn't you after getting the treatment he got?
Ike would have been the natural successor to Lennox Lewis & would have reigned a long time. There wouldn't be any Klitschko dominance that's for sure

How is he overrated? As this thread so clearly demonstrates, even though he only had TWO fights against decent opposition, people project onto him all sorts of amazing abilities that the actual record just does NOT justify. That is the definition of over-rating a fighter.

Not at all I saw Ike on almost a daily basis the whole time he was in Dallas. I saw what he was capable of. I was ridiculed when I predicted Ike would beat Tua on the old Prodigy Boxing forum. One even asked with the name IBEABUCHI is he a Japanese fighter?? lol After the fight they changed their tune it was " He's awesome where have you been hiding him?????
Ike never had a chance to fulfill his potential thanks to a lying hooker & a biased judicial system. They ruined his career & his mind. In my opinion & others that knew him thought he would be the natural successor to Lennox Lewis

You are entitled to your opinion, which sounds like it's based on observation, but it's still just that, an opinion. The facts say Ibeabuchi beat two decent opponents, one of them on a very close decision. That does not prove that your opinion is correct, and there is in fact, no way to prove this.

For what it is worth, I agree with you about the hooker.

You thought the Tua fight was actually close? The cards were horrible, he dominated Tua in reality, should have been 9-3 IMO.
