If what I hear is true, and Canelo is considering a match vs Pacquiao, I think Pac should jump all over that fight. Canelo is clearly ducking GGG and his cutting weight to avoid 160 is RIDICULOUS. Roach and Pac are the masters of negotiating stupid weight clauses, so you know that pac will some how get his ass down to a re****ed 152lb catch weight or some ****; and there is no way Canelo would be looking good there. Hell, he will probably look gaunt at the weigh in vs Khan before blowing up in weight over night.
Pac's footwork and speed would give Canelo fits, and a drained Canelo would have issues dropping Pac (seriously, he couldnt drop cotto, dude isnt going to KtFO6 him).
If the ultimate goal is to track down floyd for a rematch of the most boring ass fight I have watched in years, then there really is only 1 way to entice floyd.....Canelo.

Canelo has said something about fighting Pacquiao a couple of times in the media, but I doubt the fight can be made. I don't think Manny wants to fight bigger guys anymore and Arum will not let that happen.

You must not have seen Fury v Klitschko. Alvarez won't come in lower than 155 for Pac but Pac still should be able to kick the lead-footed Alvarez in the butt.

Wow, totally forgot about that. You're right, the 2nd most hyped fight of 2015 was equally if not worse

He's going to try hopping in like a bunny on "Drainelo" and get popped in the mouth. Pac decisively lost the two most watched fights of his career. The casuals look at him as a loser. His time at the top is over no matter how much his countrymen spam boxing forums.

I disagree with your last statement, although I wish I COULD agree- IMO Arum has a history of throwing Pacquiao into any situation that will line his pockets. I have never felt that Pacquiao had much choice in things.

Lol I like the idea just to see Canelo simultaneously argue that 160 is WAY too heavy and 152 is WAY too small for the middle weight champ to be fighting at.

You can’t have your cake and eat it to..

152 is too small for the middleweight champ to be fighting at. 154 is too small for the middleweight champ to be defending his MW title at too since that’s Jr Middleweight and there are other titles for that weight class. That’s why when Khan wanted the fight to be at 153 Canelo said it had to be in the margin of Middleweight since it’s for the middleweight title.

You’ve got to be consistent. If you are going to criticize Canelo for not fighting GGG at 160, by that logic you must also say that even worse than a 155 catchweight would be if Canelo defended the MW title at a JMW weight.

Also when you bring up 152, as pathetic as Floyd’s attempt to drain Canelo was, that was when Canelo and Floyd were 154-lb champs. Now that Canelo is a MW champ as much as we’d like to see him defend that title at 160, still it’s better that he’s defending it at 155 rather than at a Jr Middleweight weight. (like Khan wanted at 153)

I still believe that Canelo is being held to a dubious standard. It comes with the territory of Canelo being one of the biggest stars in boxing, but you’ve got to be consistent.

I don’t believe Canelo has to argue where he should be defending his title. It should be defended preferably at the Middleweight limit of 160, but considering Canelo has never fought at that weight before and by all accounts is essentially a Light Middleweight, at least somewhere above Jr Middleweight since he is holding the title.

If you are so quick to cricitize Canelo for wanting to defend his MW title above 154, what do you think about Khan wanting Canelo to agree to a 153 catchweight for a MW title fight? Is that becoming of a future MW champion (in Khan) to want to win a MW title at 153??

So anything below 155 isn't in his middleweight weight class and anything above 155 is too big for him. He can only fight at EXACTLY 155 AND his opponent must also be EXACTLY 155 as well. Makes sense.
