And tyson fury went on to become the heavyweight champion of the world. Regardless though he was only really well known because he got on tv young. No one really thought of him as a massive talent at the time. Hes named after mike tyson...they actually tried to mimick his schedule if you look back at tyson furys career he fought a crazy amount of times in that first year.

He turned over at 20. At that point mike tyson had already unified a division. Think his promoter got fury on tv then he became known through that. Think it was a terestrial channel here in britain meaning a channel here in britain thats free to air...everyone has that channel. More so than becoming popular like tyson for being pretty much one of the hottest prospects around.

And how did he get on TV so young? That's it, because he was a prospect and was tipped to go far. The rest is history.......

Tyson had already become a HOF by the age of 20-23. In fact in his later post prison career, he managed to live off what he did when he was 19-23 years old quite comfortably.

This is unlikely to be seen ever again because fighters have to struggle long and hard and gradually to establish themselves in their mid 20's, early 30's and you had a one of a kind speciman who did it at such a young age.

His promoter who was actually one of the smaller promoters in britain got a deal with channel 5 which is probably the least of all the free to air channels here in britain. It only just started with boxing at the time and i think furys promoter wasnt asking for the earth. Tyson fury wasnt a massive prospect. Their was a lot of guys out there that we,re bigger prospects in britain He got better as he went along or i think when peter fury got him sorted out anyway.

Whereas tyson was so good cus actually adopted him...probably for fear of losing him. Jacobs and the other guy had him locked in contractually from young i think...mainly because they knew exactly where he was going in the pro ranks. Cus wouldnt let tyson talk to opponents or the coaches in the amatuers such was his fear he,d lose him. Even more things that point to them knowing tyson was heading to the top. Cus regularly had discussions with tyson about not leaving him from way back when he was about 15/16.

David Price was heralded as been a far better prospect than Fury and his performances was seen as been far more impressive than Fury's until the wheels came off against Thompson.

Dont be an idiot wass. Tyson had 26 fights in his first year. He was also 18 years old. Was having a week or two between fights mostly. We,re just keeping him busy building up his professional experience/record etc.

Joshua was 25...and had 8. Also had a lengthy period out after the olympics to train for the pro game and time to train properly inbetween fights. He turned up at a gym at about 19 or something like that. By that time tyson had been training as a fully fledged professional from 14.

Regardless tho...theres no real comparison to how tyson went through that division at 18/19 to how joshua did. These guys like breazeale molina etc are no more than part time fighters nowadays. Whyte was the same when he fought joshua. You can say a lot about tysons lot but they all knew how to fight. Guys like molina...i ve no real idea what he can do well...not much. Not a great jab. Poor conditioning. Cant fight on the move. Poor movement. Poor chin. Give me something he does well? Honestly i cant really think of anything. Same with breazeale. He can punch a bit. Martin as well...i cant think of anything. His footworks not bad. His upper body speed resembles that of a guy thats not moved off a couch for about 20 years I can tell you a list of things james tillis/mitch green marvis frazier berbick thomas etc and a few other names do well.

Mitch green with ten extra pounds on him would have beaten joshua. And i m being serious. He was 6 foot 5 with a 82 inch reach. Joshua is 6 foot 6 with an 82 inch reach. Green was 225 pounds for tyson. Joshuas fluctuated all the way from about 220 all the way up to 250. Which in itself should raise question marks bearing in mind that 30 pounds looks to have transfered to muscle. Even then mitch green was about twice as fast as joshua. Could fight on the move. Could throw punches in bunches. Had a very good jab. Was very good to the body. Had a great variety of punches. Had a tremendous chin. Was strong. Good stamina. Good movement.

In comparison joshuas stronger. Fast for a guy weighing 250. Doesnt have great movement. Cant fight on the move doesnt have a great punch variety. Hes basically bigger stronger and more powerful than everyone in the division. But his boxing skills like most of them in the division is almost novice like in comparison with that 80,s era. The same era everyone calls bums nowadays. But these guys could really fight. They all had skill. Putting things in perspective tho joshua isnt all that much bigger than say bruno or even mitch green Bruno was actually one of the guys that lacked skill. But not that many of them did back then. I d take the higher skilled guy over the slightly bigger man most times in a boxing ring.

Again all I see is a endless writing of rubbish, Joshua has achieved more and fought better opponents than Tyson did in his first 19 fights, are you denying this?

Mitch Green couldn't crack an egg shell with those slaps, Joshua would finish him within 3 rounds.
