If it is true that Evander uses PEDs, then he has no heart. Not in the way you think

Your confusing different type of PEDs, yes androgenic steroids can be , but less androgenic steroids can be used to maintain muscle mass while cutting bodyfat. Furthermore other PEDs can be used to gain speed/strength while not increasing body mass. Furthermore EPO can be used to significantly increase stamina. And thats before we even get into any A-Side Meth

I dont know a whole lot about PED's, but in the case of these fighters were discussing I would say they were used to maintain muscle mass. If you look at Mike Tyson when he fought Peter McNeeley five months after getting out of prison, he certainly looked like he was on something. He was never that ripped, before or after that fight, so Im sure he used something to cut bodyfat.

    I do.
And I've been saying it for years.
I could be wrong, and I have no evidence, and I dont think it's a huge issue to have a fit about like many here do, but I reckon Lewis, Holyfield, and Tyson probably used PEDs.

I don't remember making an argument about how PEDs improve ability. Nor do I see PEDs under every stone. There is an obvious problem in the sport with these substances, but let's not forget a point already made, namely, that a regiment of PEDs is expensive. The vast majority of active boxers are not in the money.

As per James Toney. You are making an assumption about my argument. Tillis was an example of a fighter who was unlikely to be on PEDs. He probably couldn't have afforded them. Toney is a slob but was probably on them. That's a problem. That NC against Ruiz was perfectly justified.

Recalibrating the risks is not all I want to do. It was argumentative. Natural power is not artificially-enhanced power. Cheating is not the same as God-given torque. Why the confusion?

"Might be"...? Let's clear this up.

If I turn professional, would you'd recommend that I get on a regiment of PEDs because my opponents "might" be on them?

"Do unto others as they would do unto you, only do it first"...?

--That's a pretty cynical way of looking at things.

I don't condone crime. But the way it's barely being detected, it wouldn't be fair to single out one criminal and hold him accountable while others may be just as guilty, but simply got lucky in not getting caught.

    Agree or disagree?

    C. doesn't make sense.
Tyson was lean during his time in jail 1992 - '95. Interviews from jail given in 1994 describe him as lean, and in fact he said he was about 214 pounds when released. He looked slim when he walked out. No need to cut any body fat.

I believe Tyson did PEDs in 1995 and onwards too, and maybe before that too, but your reasoning doesn't make sense to me.

His muscle mass will have been low from lack of any conditioning and his body fat percentage will have been relatively high for his weight imo. I think he used a drug to cut bodyfat becuase he wanted to be exceptionally ripped for his comeback fight and it shows as against McNeeley he was definitely the most ripped he ever was. I don't agree with your idea that he continued to take drugs after McNeeley like you believe, I still think it was only for that one fight and I strongly disagree that he used them pre-prison - he was all natural!

    Oh and read PP's post:

With Holyfield, it is not his size (though he looks bizarre - my gran's legs are more muscular).

It the fact that he basically admitted it.

As for Tyson, what of him?

He was around 215 to 220 for most of his career. Hardly changed much at all until the very end, which you would expect.
