If it was ANYONE other than Myweather no one would be calling it a sucker punch.

You're seriously reaching... I've already stated that if Pacquiao did and tried to justify it, I'd disown him. Pacquiao knows his fan base believes in him because we know that he give his heart when he fights. On top of that they love that he can enter the ring SMILING fight the man and then after that invite them to the Philippines to party.

He's a great sportsman... if he lost that he'd lose his support. On the other hand Mayweather encourages the base elements of human beings and his contingent of fans love it. It's know wonder why they love what they saw Saturday night. It's seriously disturbing on many levels... :smoke

It was legal. Ortiz did deserve to get payback for the headbutts.

It was also super cheap, and Mayweather has a pattern of doing it even when he's not fouled, so it's not about that.

Mayweather could have easily beaten Ortiz down. He just chose to take the easy way out by hitting a guy when the other guy didn't expect him to.

That KO will always be tainted by the circumstances.

That's understandable. People will disagree on how "cheap" it was, but you're right, it will be tainted as you said.

Ortiz got KTFO! And if there wasn't anything wrong with it in some peoples eyes, why hardly any nominations for KO Of The Year on my thread?

Not saying it was KO Of The Year. But why hardly any nominations?

    Why?

Imagine if Mayweather headbutted Ortiz then Ortiz knocked him out. "he got what he deserved" would be everybody's sentiment.

Most real fighters have said it best. Its protect yourself at all times. People think that its just a cliche. Its said for a reason.

Like Paulie said, you can do something like that, and then try to get all lovey dovey. You can't something like that back. You just did some dirty big time, and now you need to be prepared to fight and deal with a pissed off foul.

I bet no one on this forum would be calm if someone did something ****ed up like that to them, but yet Mayweather gets busted in the mouth by an illegal shot, and people get on him for getting mad, and cracking back legally at the 1st opportunity. Its just pure and simple hatred. There was gonna be discrediting and excuses about this fight no matter what happened.

Money did what the **** he was supposed to do. Otiz started acting like a ***** with that headbutting **** and Money put a halt to it. Cold and calculated, like a real G. He offered his punkass a rematch if he is so inclined to continue the proper ass whooping he was getting before he started that ****. With that demostration,Money put all would be headbutters and dirty fighters on notice. DONT BRING THAT **** TO ME!!!!!! It was a sucker punch but it wasnt a dirty punch. He sucker punched a sucker and aint nothing wrong with that.:bbb:bbb:bbb

If Mayweather did any thing wrong in the Gatti fight he would have at the very least been warned, very likely deducted a point. Once the referee decided to let things go on regaurdless of what came out of his mouth Gatti needed to be protecting himself.

In the Mosley fight they were just jawing at eachother. Mosely got the worst of it but at least he acted like a profesional boxe and atemped to fight and not look for help.

I read a thread a couple of months ago. There were 2 unknown boxers. Boxer #1 tried to touch gloves with #2 at the beginning of the fight. Boxer #2 just KTFO boxer #1 while he was reaching out. The general vibe of the thread was that #1 was faulty for not "protecting himself at all times" and that #2 wasn't under any obligation to touch gloves.

Mayweather is crucified for following the rules, while an unknown boxer isn't. That's just because the guy's high profile and draws his lot of haters.

Anyhow, can't be bothered to search for the thread. If someone remembers that thread it would be great if it was bumped.

Mayweather threw a classless and blatant cheap shot. If mayweather had butted Ortiz and Ortiz had done that to your beloved mayweather u would be crucifying Ortiz. Take your rose tinted goggles off.

You act like Floyd's the only guy in history that's been fouled before. Lots of champions have been fouled and didn't do what Mayweather did.

Secondly, I just wish the *****s would ask themselves honestly how they would react if the roles were reversed. They are the ones who are truly unobjective. They are the ones who would do an about face on whether or not it was justified.
They are the ones with the real double standards.
