What motivates you now -- is it the glory or the money? It is certainly not the money as after 44 professional fights I am well taken care of financially. It has never been about the money for Ricky Hatton -- its is about the challenge.
I wouldn't imagine he is making a great deal fighting Lazcano! But I think it is about money - why else would you get in there and risk getting your head smashed in?!?!
It's about the money for everyone, whoever says otherwise is a liar. The only difference is, now its all about the money, where as boxers wanted money but actually cared about their legacy.
Yep his share of the ppv and the gate will be huge. I would not be surprised if Hatton made a million with this fight. Thhis fight is all about the money. Hatton is a bigger skank than Tony Benn.
he's got enough money. i just don't buy the argument that he's all motivated by money. sure money plays a part. but i don't believe it's the be all and end all for rick. there's far easier fights than a mayweather rematch.
He knows he will take a huge hammering against Mayweather but for 30mins of humiliation he will earn a few million. Hatton is very money driven and is concerned with little else.
Thats the bottom line of it. He'll get another hiding of Mayweather, but that few million he'll get will tend to his wounds.
but this is a fighter that earns big against everyone he fights. i accept he's motivated by money to a point. course he is. but i don't believe it's 100% like u lot do. :bart
Hatton knows he can make maybe a £1million+ whover he fights now. He can get over double that vs a few guys. If Hatton was so bothered about his legacy or career. A rematch vs PBF would be a huge money maker for him even though he knows he can not win. He did not push for the original fight because he thought he could win, he will obviously understand his limitations but he knows that that fight could and did open alot more doors financially especially after the way his American career had been heading. Before that fight America was ready to turn its back on him but to to his fan support and the money it brought in they realised they were on a sure money winner even though he has an awful and boring style.
