If Itauma is ready for Hrgovic, he's ready for Parker

Also pretty sure parker got stopped because of exhaustion. That's the reason the impact of joyces punches grew. Parker came in heavy for that fight and it was the wrong strategy

 

He was quite sick in the build up, like went to hospital, and as a result couldn't implement his gameplan on the night. After the first round he was apparently gassed so decided to just try and bang with Joyce and win a KO as quickly as possible, a pretty bad plan overall.

Still it was good to see that Parker has the heart and can go out and there and get into a war when he has to.

 

And Zhang turned his back in that same fight and ran away from Hrgovic in fear, that alone lost him a fight

 

"KO loss to Dubois" was really a KO loss to his own stamina he was killing Dubois.

 

Well maybe but he didn't look that bad, he landed many bombs on joyce and just couldn't deter him. It was a massive achievement of joyce to fight like this. He went in there like a tank.

So i don't like the sick narrative taking away from Joyce's win here. He had crazy activity for his size and an unbelievable chin. And parker didn't really show less activity than usual or looked crazy tired. It should have been more obvious if that had been a major reason I think. I remember Joshua fighting povetkin basically starting with an open mouth. That looked like sick to me.

Joyce really deserves the recognition for this win.

 

Yeah definitely, I think Joyce is actually my favourite fighter of this generation. The guy is like a video game character with max stamina, and he had a maxed chin before it broke, but no speed.

I still think he was cheated of the gold medal, and should have at least gotten a title shot before he was cracked. He was a hard night for anybody, even Usyk although I don't think any version of Joyce would trouble Usyk, Usyk would still have stay moving and keep up his work rate for 12 rounds.

 

Parker is much harder to hit.

 

"Could" happen. Sure.
Of course Itauma could turn out to have a china chin that gets shattered the first time he gets hit.
Or be mentally frail and wilt under pressure.
Or have a tiny gas tank and fall over from exhaustion after eight rounds.
Or. Or. Or.
Of course Itauma would need to actually get in the ring with someone who hits him back before we find any of this out...

 

I'm looking forward to that.. Itauma's first REAL test. Like Hrgovic.. or, well, Parker (if/when Parker loses to Usyk.. next fight after that is Itauma). Kabayel?

I want to see him tested for sure. Dude looks like the future of the division, and at only 20 has a decade or two ahead of him.
It's because of that potential that I'd like to see them bring him along a little more slowly than throwing him in against the top 10 next.
Yeah slow means we probably don't get Itauma vs Usyk, but the sport is littered with fights we never got and this would just be another one. No big deal.
20 to learn, 20 to earn.

 

Any top 8 boxer would have KO'd Moses at 6:02. He's still flawed.
