if someone is standing infront of you , then you can tell by their body language where its going before it gets there... all i'm saying is i don't take a cheap shot against some guy who's starting to meltdown and is about to throw that punch when i can call him out and (sometimes) diffuse it by calling him outside to settle our differences.
Its a left hook followed by a right hand. The ref said fight. If the dumb **** wants to drop his hands and talk to the ref or his opponent , it is his stupidity. Its an opportunity to go home early. All as per the rules. Endy of storey. If you cant understand that , then its your problem.
So in a boxing match if it starts...but the other guy keeps his arms down instead of protecting himself....does the guy opposite him have to wait until his arms are up in a defensive stance? If Floyd got KO'D because his arms were down they would've said PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES... You guys are knit-pickers and that happens with people who hate Floyd. They fish so much for **** to say about him they end up making no damn sense
It's only a sucker punch because Floyd punched a sucker. Like they say in basketball, it's hand-down, man-down.
Great point here--too many people making such a big deal out of the punch but the headbutt doesn't get near the attention it should. Let me make it crystal clear--I can't stand FM. I ALWAYS root against him no matter who he is fighting. But I can't fault him on this one. Ortiz took to blatant illegal headbutting and Floyd dropped him when he saw an opening. End of story as far as I am concerned.
Now THAT is the better question to ask.:good Been asking the same question ever since the whole issue unfolded.
The headbutts of course. It doesn't mean what Floyd threw were sucker punches though. People here get too technical while it's really too easy to figure out. In a bar fight, what would you call a sucker punch? Aren't those punches thrown when the person on the receiving end was CLEARLY not expecting it AND the person throwing them were CLEARLY taking advantage of the situation?
Ref said "Lets go", how was it Floyd's fault for Victor not paying attention? Either way Floud would've stopped him and this "controversy" gers overstated. And I like Floyd but didn't/don't feel sorry for him when he got headbutted as he pulls his opponents head down like every fight. Guys dirty and deserved that **** though every talented crafty fighter has tricks within the rules or not. The shot didn't look hard but Ortiz quit. Knew he was overmatched and looked for a way out.
In all honesty it was a little bit cheap for Floyd to throw those shots, a true sportsman would have waited but Cortez did signal the fighters to continue Ortiz was busy apologizing after an intentional headbutt, which in itself was a foul Mayweather just clocked him, it was legal, was in the rules and following what Ortiz did I have no problem with the result
