Surely this would take some of the luster off Canelo vs GGG. I really don't think GGG is going to get by Jacob easily, that's if he gets pass him at all. GGG looks great against lesser fighters, but Jacob will be the best he's faced. Brooke is good, but he's not a natural MW, so he doesn't count. Should Jacob win, and do so impressively. Could Canelo vs Jacob become a super fight?
That isn't going to happen. Jacob's job is to turn up and take his punishment like a good boy and ride off into the sunset with a handsome sum for his troubles.
Jacobs is a more difficult fight for Golovkin than Ducknelo. But Golovkin should win it'S now or never for him to get the big $ fights
Thats a Big IF, but IF he did beat Ggg there is almost ZERO reason to make the fight. The new fight to make would be naturally Jacobs-Canelo.
If GGG fought better comp before this fight, and handled it well, then I might agree with you, but his domination over Jacob has yet to be seen, or proven. So it's a toss up for me.
The If shouldn't be that big, when you consider GGG competition. It wouldn't be a shock to me if he did loose, and shouldn't be to anyone else either.
It's not a big if, GGG will simply do a number on him to the point where Jacobs will be seeing a multitude of Colonel Saunders' floating above his head to at which point he'll believe he had passed over and reached into heaven.
This. GGG would never live it down. Pirog completely neutralized Jacobs without much effort before the knockout.
When you consider GGG's competition, you see Murray and Lemieux, who were ranked, I think, 3 and 4 by the ring at the time, plus several others who were top ten in Macklin, Geale, Rubio, Stevens, Proksa. It's an odd stance to claim this fight is even based on competition when realistically Jacobs has only one win (Quillin) which would get into Golovkin's top 8. That said, I do like Jacobs as a fighter and think he's clearly the best test out there at 160 or below for GGG.
They are making Jacobs do VADA for the first time ever, he is not beating anyone let alone GGG who routinely does VADA.
youre entitled to your opinion but I respectfully say it's wrong, the way GGG deals with his opponents and virtually carries the fights to give the fans a show indicates he's not even showed us his best yet,if I were Jacobs I'd be very worried.
Exactly. GGG humoured kell brook and allowed him to have his moments. In effect he took pity on him and let him have his little show in front of his deluded fanbase who thought he may have a flicker of hope in doing the impossible. GGG must have only displayed 30% of his ability that night, which is frightening. If he used anything anywhere close to 100% I'd wager Brook would've been dead that night.
