If Jacobs beats GGG it would be a shock, but nothing outside the realm of impossibility. Monroe Jr beating GGG was practically impossible as GGG was 100-1 fav in that fight. 8-1 odds are wide, but we have seen plenty of upsets at 8-1.

As for what would happen after a Jacobs win, well for starters Jacobs would get a shot at Canelo. And the GGG-Canelo fight would effectively be nullified. Unless GGG would be able to stage a comeback but at 35 that will be tough. Also, many floyd fans and GGG haters would rejoice immensely while the hardcore GGG fanbase would be distraught, having only Loma, Usyk and Kov to root for. In the event of Jacobs stopping GGG, the latters career would spiral downward quickly as he would have much more trouble getting fights as his draw would get cut in half, the HBO money would get cut in half, while he would still be a dangerous opponent for his peers. Lets keep in mind that GGG is no Tyson that could afford a few losses. This is only his 2nd PPV, with projections in the 200k range vs Tyson who was an international superstar known by nearly everyone on the planet. Even in my parents village in Greece they all know Tyson. The small amount of casuals that follow GGG would jump off the bandwagon. I would even expect the hardcore GGG fan base to scatter in the event of a shock KO loss.

GGG cant afford to lose in this right. Otherwise he ends up in Khurtsidze situation. High risk, low reward.

Yeah I think you're right because unlike Canelo who lost to Floyd when he was young GGG is too old to comeback,it's a shame and one thing I hate about boxing now compared to in the past,it's like nobody is expected to lose anymore

That depends on how you are marketed.

Floyd and Ggg are marketed as invincible fighters, so a loss would naturally destroy their marketing scheme.

Fighters like Canelo, Márquez, Barrera, Pacquiao, De La Hoya could afford losses because people paid to watch them in action, win or lose.

? Hate on his skin color....rubbish pure rubbish go away with this nonsensical bollocks

If GGG loses it will be because he was either out-boxed or caught with a massive counter, either way I don't see him losing this fight against Danny even if DJ has some good tools, its a 65/35 fight IMO

I don't think Golovkin had a choice BUT to be marketed as an invincible monster. Wasn't too long ago where he offered to fight Darren Barker for free. He got royally screwed in Germany and lost precious years, having to come to USA and start from scratch.

Even if he were to get KOd by Jacobs I'd consider his career a very good success as he's made over 15 million in purses. How many pro boxers can say the same?

So why isn't folks swinging off of Andre Ward nut? He's way more accomplished then GGG would ever be, fought better comp and achieved more. Yet there's no bodies dangling from his sack. Also last I check folks love Kovalev, isn't GGG and him the same color? As for Wilder he still haven't fought the best, but he has/have stated he wants the winner of Klitchko vs Alexander. Not sure what Fury is doing these days, but I'm sure if he's still in the equation, wilder will fight him to. Until then I'm a fan, but still not convienced until he take them out. Also there's not to many good HW fighters out there, and once wilder face any of those fighters. Theirs really no other place he can go. The HW division is the last stop. GGG can go higher the same way Ward went higher. In order to be great you have to reach for it. GGG alligator arms aren't reaching far because he's not trying to achieve greatness. He's content with playing it safe.

I think Ggg will jab on Jacobs, respect his power, like he did on Lemieux, but Jacobs is probably best pure boxer in the division when he chooses to box, with the exception of Saunders. It might be a back and forth tactical fight, with both fighters respecting each other's power and trying to sneak in a bomb inbetween when they see an opening. Ggg might then start putting pressure on Jacobs by the 3rd round and start breaking him down, beginning of the end. Like Korobov, Jacobs is an underrated fighter with a very good amateur pedigree and because they got ko'd early many might write them off, but Jacobs already bounced back, may have to rise once again from a defeat against Ggg, but Jacobs can still look great and make more fans even in a losing effort, IF he gives Ggg his hardest fight to date. Even a rematch is possible. Jacobs has a fan friendly style, would still like to see him vs Lemieux, Saunders, Eubank Jr, Stevenson, Johnson, Khurtsidze, Korobov, Lara, Andrade, or Charlo.

Jacobs was a child in comparison, and what undoubtedly having at least some adverse affects from the cancer growing in his body.

He would be brought to Germany where K2 would get him all the SMW titles and he'd get more $$$ and better his legacy.

Though....his getting KOd or DQd would be the only way he could lose
