won the light heavy title who would it have been over and how long would he have held it , who would have beaten him for it?
LaMotta wanted to challenge champion Joey Maxim back in '51 and said he would purposely stick out his chin for Maxim to hit, so contemptuous was he of Joey's power. Jake thought he could take Maxim, but I'm not too sure about that. Maxim is underrated a lot, but I think he'd be too smart to fight a slugging type of fight with Jake. He's do what he did best, box defensively, and that would either mean a narrow points victory for Maxim, where he'd put everyone to sleep in the process, or else it would be sort of a lightheavy version of Corro-Antuofermo, with Jake slinging enough garbage at Maxim to take an equally close decision. Either way, I don't think there'd be single knockdown from either man. Let's just say that Jake wins the title from Maxim, then he'd lose it about 6 months later by a one sided decision to Archie Moore, in his first defense. Jake would have taken some punishment ferom Moore, and could very well have been decked along the way, or maybe even tko'ed.
