    beaten srr in their title fight how long would he have held onto the title and who would have taken it away from him?

    He wouldnt have.

    He was verry far from being on any winning form that night.

    He was beaten mentaly and physicaly before the fight started and was just trying to avoid the humiliation of being counted out.

    Life outside the ring had taken a tremendous toll on him by that fight. If not Robinson then the next challenger would have unseated LaMotta as Middleweight Champion.

    ok lets look at this from another angle. lamotta was the uncrowned champ for three to five years. lets say he beay zale and took the title .then what happens inbetween that time till 1951? does he take on graziano or who for the middleweight title or does he move up to light heavy and beat maxim?and then what happens?

    If he won the title earlier. La Motta still would have to deal with Robinson. Plus if were deealing in What if's. Had Cerdan not been killed. Would he have had a three or four fight series with LaMotta? What would have been the likely outcome in that kind of series?
