Taylor wins by UD. Put your money on that.

If he wins, it will be by debatable decision.

If it goes to the cards, I would not be surprised if HBO got him the nod again.

I actually think Taylor will win a safe and relatively boring decision. I could see Lacy going into sparring partner mode if he's behind after the 8th round or so.

I know you called the Hopkins/Pavlik very accurately. Would like to know why you think this way.

I just watched the Lacy/Mendoza fight.

Lacy looked good in the first couple of rounds in terms of hand speed and his movements seemed crisp. Both slowed down as the fight wore on.

I think if i was in Taylor's camp, i would tell JT to play it safe the first couple of rounds and let Lacy sho0t his load a bit so his hand speed and movement isn't as fast/precise. So just play the jabbing game. Then as the fight goes on, the difference in hand speed will be greater and that's when JT can let go of his hands. If JT comes out aggressive, i think he could KO Lacy. But there's also a chance that JT is more than happy to simply outpoint Lacy as they are friends.

I think it all depends on what type of mentality JT comes out with. So that's why betting on this fight is so difficult.

A lot of people are completely overlooking Lacy here, Jermain is coming off two major losses. I know Lacy is ruined and all that but he still can go the distance and power will always be a key here for a guy like Taylor who's coming off two losses against a big puncher. I'm giving Lacy a good chance here if not win, if Jermain does it then it will be by decision, Calzaghe couldn't KO Lacy so I dont' see how Jermain will and Jermain will be too cautious in this one looking to pick his punches and try his best not to run out of gas.

That power IMO has severely faded in recent memory. I think the collarbone (or shoulder was it?) injury pretty much put the timer on Lacy (the calzaghe fight put him in the oven). Lacy looked awful since the Calzaghe fight where as even in a loss, Taylor looked solid in both Pav fights.

The question really is mentality. We're talking about two fighters who were discussing/kicking around the idea of retirement as recent as last year. It could turn out to be a very safe affair with little risks taken..which would hand the fight over to Taylor.
