If Jermain Taylor does have tune up who should he fight?I

Maranda because hes a pressure fighter like Kelly.

 

You break your jaw and fight 10 rounds against Miranda.

 

How about John Duddy? I don't think Duddy has earned a fight with Pavlik yet and Taylor can bring him back down to reality.

 

Markus Beyer. Easy win for Taylor, and he could pick up some decent money in the process. Also, it would be a respectful tune-up, not a joke like Mora or Bonsante.

Jaidon Codrington might be another good one, if he loses the Contender finale.

 

I think the Mora fight would be good because of their styles. Mora just had a bad fight and needs to prove something and Taylor gets a light puncher that he can work out some kinks and gain some confidence. Plus we get to see two things, if Taylor reverts to a not letting his hands go like in the fights before Pavlik since Mora's output is about 1/3 of Pavliks and how good Mora's chin is because Taylor can bang if he chooses to as was seen against Pavlik. The biggest question mark for Taylor is that if he does go in with guns blazing and doesn't take out Mora quickly, how much does he fade in the later rounds.

 

Bonsante is a tough guy, but he would be killed by Taylor. He is a C level fighter. Look what Allan Green did to him.:!:

 

I think the more relavant question should be- does he really need a tune up fight?

The fight wasn't one sided, and it was competitive. At the time of stoppage I had Taylor ahead by 2 points (3-3). I think Taylor needs to make some adjustments to regain his title. I doubt a tune up would do much to increase his chances.

 

I think he could fight nearly anybody in that division in the lower portion of the top 10 and not have a problem. After his loss to Pavlik I was looking through the top 10 to grasp what Taylor's next opponent could be and there was literally nobody. Now, this could be because lack of proper coverage on good fighters (since most of them are international and I live in America) or they actually suck. But in Taylor's case I'd say a guy lacking KO power. Honestly Taylor should take the rematch ASAP and then even if he loses he's still got the body to move up to super-middleweight so he might as well. There would be some exciting matches there, and if he could go one beyond that to light heavyweight that could be just as interesting (if not more). Taylor still has talent, it just seems a lot of it was sapped from him after battles with B-Hop and the draw with Winky (which could have been scored as a loss for Taylor). Taylor has been way too cautious after those battles.

 

I would like to see Taylor get some easy money and needed work in bashing the living **** out of the rancid, maggot infested trash heap Mora.

 

Mora does not deserve a Taylor fight. Why should "The Latin Fake" get an undeserved big pay day. The only way for Mora to gain any credibility would be to fight some good B level guys. There are very few of them he can actually beat. Mora should have to pay his ****ing dues like most fighters do.

Taylor's people should be cautious right now. Move him to 168, get him re-established, and wait for Kelly to move up.

I'd also like to see him move up if they don't go straight to a rematch. He has hold his hands up and stay away from those damn ropes or he won't be around for too long. I don't know how the hell people in his camp let him get away with that for so long.

 

If Jermain Taylor decides to stay at 160

Facing Sergia Mora after Sergia's humiliating draw would simply make Taylor look weak. If Taylor KO's Mora then it'll look like he took an easy fight. But if slippery as a snale Mora plays the Spinks card and surivives Taylor for 12 rounds then Taylor looks bad. I think if Taylor needs a tune-up fight, he needs to go against a puncher. Take on Giovanni Lorenzo and let the chips fall where they may. If Taylor beats Lorenzo he'll definitely have the momentum to take on Pavlik for the rematch at 160.

If Taylor moves up to 168

Take on Miranda. He's a power puncher with low skills. He'll provide a lot of excitement, but Taylor should be able to batter him senseless like Pavlik did. ( Miranda's defense makes Pavlik's look good )

 

i would like too see himbeat up on Abraham, an easy title win for Taylor.

 

At this stage of the game he cannot afford to take a step backwards.
He still cast doubts in critcs, commentators, reporters and fans alike.
He has three options:
1. Take a short hiatus (ala. Jeff Lacy), refine his skills and come back focused.
2. Jump back into the fire with a rematch with Pavlik (there is a rematch clause)
3. Revert to the lower weight class where he'd be more effective
