The one punch KO with a cross against Cintron didn't impress you. 'It was a head but no one hits that hard'.

Jermain Taylor is very far gone. Lacking punch resistance, stamina, and never really a knock out puncher. No way does he beat Martinez

33 years old and being out of the ring for 2 years after being ktfo 3 times, does not look good to me for Taylor.

This would never happen. If it did I can see JT being knocked out within 8 rounds.

so much is wrong with some of these posts....for one, arthur abraham doesnt do much in the ring, but not hitting harder than sergio martinez is bull****. also, this "punch resistance" talk has yet to be determined. the man took 7 straight rounds of right hands from pavlik and went damn near the entire fight with froch and abraham. where is the early round power shot that has put him down and kept him down?? where is taylor's khan/prescott moment?

the jermain taylor that fought hopkins, winky and kelly would beat the **** out of the martinez we just saw. i just don't think we'll see that form again. who knows though, he'll be back with his old trainer at his former weight. crazier things have happened...little red suffered some bad beatings before coming back.

i'll see how taylor looks in his comeback fight before i answer this question.

Taylor would get battered, I think his timing would be bad after being out of the ring for so long.

I mean look at winky vs williams, winky still had good defense but his accuracy was ****, williams was slipping everything and winky doesnt usually have that problem, he was lethargic and his timing was off.

Prime taylor could beat martinez for sure and he has the style to give martinez problems but I think martinez would have an easy time landing and who knows how well taylor can take it or if he even should be taking it in the first place after having a concussion and memory loss after his last fight.

"Taylor (28-4-1, 17 KOs) has not fought since suffering a severe concussion in a brutal 12th-round knockout to Arthur Abraham in Berlin in the opening bout of the Super Six tournament in October 2009. It was such a bad knockout that Taylor was briefly hospitalized because of the concussion, short-term memory loss and a small amount of bleeding on his brain."

Yep -- true story! Let Jermain fight Barker and David Lopez. After that, I' be willing to speculate on a Martinez fight, and probably back JT.

This would be a very interesting fight. Martinez will never fight Taylor for the kind of money the fight will pay.

I don't think JT is done as most think he is. He's still relatively young and if he gets a good tune up, i think it would be a good fight. JT would tower over Martinez. JT's got those blazing combos of his and when he let's his hands go, it's pretty. I would love to see this fight.

Prime Taylor would destroy Martinez. But the brain damaged Taylor who is ring rusty and too big to make 160lbs is a handpicked fight for Martinez. This is the Dibella style of matchmaking at its finest. They know Martinez is all hype and would do everything possible to protect him. including resurrecting Taylor back from the dead to feed him to Sergio

People worry about Jermains punch resistance and that's fair, but I'd be curious to see how Martinez responds to the right hand that dropped Froch, or the one that put down and ALMOST put out Pavlik. This would be a far better fight than some make it out to be.

Jermain Taylor may be able to out jab him and keep him at bay and he could probably hurt him

i thought he looked great vs Abraham til getting KO'd but like stated he has been out for quite a bit now and will not be the same
