If JMM beats Casamayor while Calzaghe beats up a faded legend, should JMM jump to #2?

I thought I noticed a pattern last week but dont draw it to anyone's attention. :D
The threads are endorsed by a calzaghe fan Joecaldragon who states pacfan is not a hater thats good enough for me. I dont read too many of them because the thread title's are pretty easy to read between the lines.

Pacfan could turn out to be a nemesis for TFFP . I dont think he has enough in spreading the gospel of joe.

I have JMM at 2 right now because I thought he beat Pac in both fights.

actually i have this marquez over joe after joe's performance against hopkins. Marquez was more impressive losing by SD than joe winning an SD. And don't tell me nobody ever look impressive against hopkins, my basis for this was for all the hype and belief than calzaghe would give hopkins a one sided beatdown.

imo its just that fair jmm gets to be no.2 if he wins against casa. Casa is past his prime but clearly RJJ is about 3x more shot than hopkins or casa. Right now its the same hype and belief by fans that it would be just a walk in a park for calzaghe against jones.

P.S. Don't get that knee jerk reaction folks if calzaghe gets to KO rjj:yep

Only if JMM wins and Calzaghe looses.

Is Roy a champion coming off of a knock out victory? Over the last 3 or 4 years Casa has done a hell of a whole lot more than Roy. I don't think they're in the same boat, I don't even think they're in the same ocean.

No. But beating Casa would be a very good win, but seeing Casa was dominated (even though he won by SD) by Jose Armando Santa Cruz two fights ago (although Casa was rusty then), its fair to say that Casa's stock is a little overblown at the moment.

However, I would say that knocking out Casa would eclipse Pac knocking out Diaz. Diaz barely got by Ramon Montano of all people in his fight before Pac although he was clearly much more motivated for Pac.

Enough to jump Zag? No. If you are going to give him that much credit off a Casa win, you got to give everyone else insane credit for their accomplishments, so, no.

Joe effectively made Hopkins quit. I give him credit for that. It isn't his fault that Cortez allowed Hopkins unfair rest time due to phantom low blows. And I write this with great respect for what Hops did against Joe, Tarver, Wright and Taylor this late in his career. Just the fact that he is such a threat is a tribute to his enormous and (somewhat) age defying talents - but the old guy needed a rest and he got it.

It is a fairly close but fairly clear Zag victory although an ugly mess of a fight.

So, personally, I dismiss the posts that try and take something away from Zag for beating, or in my book, fairly clearly getting by, a guy in Hopkins who is obviously still an extremely dangerous fighter. And a guy who still hasn't been solidly beaten since Jones a million years ago - and even then he delivered a very good performance.

Casa is near shot, he struggled past Kasidis...which is shocking.

Neither JMM nor Calzaghe are top 5 P4P now.

Wow you have a short memory? Everybody and their grandma picked Katsidas to beatdown the "shot" Casa, and we know how that went.....Casa's KO over Katsidas is an easy KO of the year candidate....Hows that for "shot"? ****ing meathead

I am a self-proclaimed Calzaghe-Fanboy-Basher, not a Calzaghe-basher. Check through my posts on the subject of Calzaghe and you will see that.

You are the only one who sees the irony in that, as there is none. The guys who regularly comment on Calzaghe are fanboys, because they just say Calzaghe as their answer to every question- in the past couple of weeks he has been put forward as (a) the Greatest Fighter of the Past 25 Years, (b) the no 1 fighter in history at combining power and speed, and (c) the best p4p defensive boxer around just now. If that isn't evidence of rampant fanboy bias, I don't know what is. It is only right some people try and take these idiots to task. Where is the irony in that? My own favourite fighter is Manny Pacquiao, but I am well aware of his flaws, and never just automatically blurt his name out in every thread, saying he is infallible. Again, don't take my word for it, check my posts.

There's no fanboy here, and no irony chum.

ps: by definition, fanboys are irrational lovers. 26 people have voted for my proposal, 23 against. How can my thread be called irrational or hate then? Your accusations are unfounded.

I state the guy isn't a hater because he never expresses any hate. I don't agree with most of what he says, but it's not as if he is one of these guys that comes on and abuses a fighter, he always states his reasons.

And to be honest, I align myself with him against the "fanboys" as he calls them, because he is right- those guys talk the most idiotic bunch of shite I've ever read.

I have wrote this on here before and will write it again:

I am from Wales. I have followed Joe since he was an amateur. I've met the guy. I've attended many of his fights in the flesh. He is my favourite boxer, I consider myself a huge fan, a monster fan. I think he is the world p4p#1 just now on ability. However, that doesn't mean I say he is the greatest fighter in history. Those guys who behave like that on here, Pugilist, TFFP, and the rest, they don't realize their **** is detrimental to Joe. Their cheerleading gives Joe and his fans a bad name on this forum, gives the haters reasons to hate, and it sickens me.

True fans are rational/logical. They are just cheerleaders.
