Calzaghe UD. Toney was never active or fast enough to beat Joe.

    1. Toney mixed with a much better standard of opponent than Joe.
    2. Toney could not afford to have an off night against Calzaghe. He got away with it a few times, fighting to the level of his opponent.
    3. I get fed up with this stuff about the Nunn fight. Nunn was not that far ahead at the time of the stoppage. Toney had been walking him down landing hard, jarring shots for 3-4 rounds. Toney was also pretty green still.

    1/ yes he did
2/ clazaghe is guilty of this as well but does step it up in big fights where i have seen toney even at lower weights carrying fat into potential hard fights.
3/i new nunn was a long way ahead but i had to look up boxing rec .

scores going into the 11th round were

nunn ahead on all cards after 10

    98-92
    99-91
    97-93

so toney did score the ko he needed.

what i will say in his defense, most on here will not know but nunn was seen as p4p 1 or 2 at this time.

yeah Nunn was, by the way those scorecards were bad...a lot of people said so. It was in Nunn's backyard and he people were all over him. I really don't see how he was all those rounds ahead.
I agree Calaghe is also a guy who seems to fight to the level of the opponent...but obviously he's only been in 1 close shave to his credit. Jermain Taylor is another one in my opinion. I have backed him at a silly 2/1 in the rematch with Pavlik.
