jones wasn't/isn't shot. He got outfought, out-smarted, plain and simple.

He wouldn't 'dent' Carl Froch, but he would dominate for 12 rounds. Froch has a lot of heart, a good punch, and can take a shot, but Calzaghe would be too awkward and fast for Carl to land anything significant on a consistent basis. I reckon he would make Froch look silly, and slap the **** out of him from pillar to post ala another Lacy performance.

It's as simple as this: Froch doesn't have the speed to give Calzaghe any problems.

    FAIL.

cal couldnt get the ko because roy shelled up. if he was to actually open up a little more joe might have been able to make something of it. but roy spent most of the fight on the ropes in his high guard.

He'd give Froch one of the worst beatings boxing has ever seen. His fists would crumble under the constant pressure of Frochs chin.

Just imagine if Calzaghe did have a better punch....as tore up and shredded as Jones was after those 12 rounds, i'd hate to have seen what damage would have been done had Calzaghe packed a bigger punch. Jones was lucky.

as much as I hate Slappy there is no doubt he can pit pat this mummy called Froch over 12 rds in a lopsided decision. Taylor vs Slappy is a better fight

And calzaghe kept poking his head through that "guard" of rjj

I think jc could have gotten a stoppage with a constant barrage of punch-slaps in that fight but for some reason (hands/playing with rjj) he didn't.

As for froch then he has a punchers chance aganint jc but only if that chin of joe is no longer solid.

Calzaghe carried RJJ for the second half of that fight,. or at least from rd 7 onwards...had he wanted to he could have stopped him but chose not to out of respect - I think he felt sorry for RJJ.

Calzaghe would box rings around Froch - the only chance Froch has is landing a KO punch, and since Calzaghe has a good chin and great recuperative ability, I can't see Froch being able to do any more than KD Calzaghe in an early round like Hopkins and RJJ did.
