Calzaghe is an extremely talented fighter, you just don't see fighters like him. He beat Jones, Hopkins, Lacy, etc., and could keep on going. I see too many sour grapes here.

The fans booed because Calzaghe laid off on RJJ in the last 4 rounds. If you think that Calzaghe couldn't have forced a stoppage, then you did not watch the fight.

If it was the normal Calzaghe, you'd have seen massive amounts of punches from Calzaghe by the fight's end. He didn't go for the KO or even the TKO. That was obvious.

And no, Froch would just be humiliated by Calzaghe in a one-sided decision. Nobody ever says Calzaghe has the power to knock anyone out anymore. He will just decisively school you hard.

we did see calzaghe throw massive amounts of punches by fights end. didnt he throw something along the lines of 990 punches in this fight? if he did this is what he threw at his absolute best(or normal calzaghe as you say)

i dont like to give roy credit for taking the easy way out and shelling up, but he still deserves a little bit for sticking in there. make no mistake, calzaghe did everything in his power to get him out of there, it just wasnt enough. no shame for givin his all.

I think its more a question of IF
he actually tries to stop people. Which we already know that he enjoys beating them up allot more than KOing them.

Also Roy Jones put up a better
fight than Hopkins. Jones tried to win that fight all 12 rounds. Where as Hopkins played for an academy award for the last 4. I would have DQ'd his ass.

I still wish Hopkins and Jones would rematch.

Jones is afraid of Hopkins, he has been for many years now. He refused to fight Toney and Michalczewski. He could have made huge money to fight Michalczewski, but refused.

Roy is not as diminished a fighter as people think. Calzaghe is just a good fighter. Roy could beat Froch.

I think JoeCal's ring generalship and speed would be too much for Froch. By the time Froch has thrown one of those big looping punches, JoeCal would have hit him 4 times. When Froch throws a combination and gets off balance JoeCal will hit 6 times. UD JoeCal all the way.

Afraid of the man he beat ?For yrs ??What years are we talking about here ??

And Toney at what weight lt heavy, crusier ,or heavy?

And when would that fight have been more attractive than their first fight ??

And last I checked both parties were to blame for the DM fight not happening ..

I would give Taylor a much better chance of doing well against Joe than I would Froch. Froch's lack of hand speed and skill would make it damn near impossible for him to land flush on Joe.

Calzaghe was 5 years past his best when Roy was lucky enough to get him. Anyone who disagrees with this statement has clearly not watched the early or middle parts of his career and has probably only been watching since the Lacy fight.

This is exactly why Americans believe that Calzaghe is a soft puncher, because they've only been watching since the Lacy fight. Those of us who have observed his career since day one remember the concussive power he once had (yes, even whilst slapping). The boxing community at large never witnessed his power, they also cannot appreciate how much more mobile he was in his prime.

At 36 years of age he was well shop-worn, the fact that he still managed to pistol-whip Jones over 12 rounds is testament to the godliness that is Joe Calzaghe. I was at that fight at The Garden last year, and I've been to earlier fights in his career as well, he was shot, deal with it.

Calzaghe would turn it into a boring 12 round slap fest.Froch would try his best to make a fight of it as did Kessler. But the thousand slap per round shite would kick in early on,and another 12 round points win for Calzaghe would be the result.Calzaghe and Ottke the masters of the 12 round bore.

Ok say Calzaghe was shot then for the Roy fight, what do you think a Prime fast, hard hiting, hard to hit Roy Jones Jr (prime) do to a Joe Calzaghe (prime)?

Roy would blast Joe inside 4 rounds, if Roy wanted to make a fool out of him.
